Featured Interview With Lynda McDaniel

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, but I’ve lived all over this country—from the Midwest to the Deep South to Appalachia to the Mid-Atlantic to the Pacific Northwest. Whew! I finally settled in Santa Rosa, California, a place that reflects the values I learned while living in the mountains of North Carolina during my 20s. That’s where I’ve set my Appalachian Mountain Mysteries as a way of paying homage to the people who taught me so much. And to share the amazing stories that happened to me there. I’m a dog lover, and I currently have the most amazing dog–Mollie. She inspired two of the dogs in my latest book.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I distinctly remember being in the second grade and reading “Winnie the Pooh,” a gift from my aunt and uncle. When I neared the end, I stopped reading because I loved it so much, I didn’t want to finish. I believe I was 18 or 19 before I actually read the ending! I enjoyed writing in school, but I didn’t do much beyond assignments. Interestingly, it was when I moved to a town of 200 in the mountains of N.C. that I began my 35+ year writing career. The first time I saw my byline in the “Asheville Citizen-Times” I was hooked. I’ve since gone on to write 1,200 articles for major magazines and 18 books. Like I said, I was hooked!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m a mystery buff, so I mostly read that genre. As for authors who inspire me, Adrian McKinty ranks high. I love his humor and character backstories that add so much to the mysteries. I’m also a big fan of P.D. James, David Baldacci, Jonathan Kellerman, and Michael Connelly. Especially Michael Connelly. Ray McKinnon–a screenplay writer, most famous for the television series “Rectify”–also inspires me. He writes engrossing stories and heartfelt scenes without a hint of sentimentality.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Welcome the Little Children” is the third book in my Appalachian Mountain Mysteries. This book continues the saga of Abit Bradshaw and Della Kincaid and involves a missing mother, neglected children, and lost love. Abit and Della have their work cut out for them as they get entangled in the investigation of the missing mother, searching for answers from the mountains of N.C. to the streets of D.C. Along the way, they come face-to-face with the lies and secrets plaguing their own families. I was inspired by my life in the mountains of N.C., my Irish heritage, and bluegrass music. Oh, and the eight years I spent in Washington, D.C. (Quite a difference from small-town N.C.!)

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m happily married for over 13 years with a precious 6 years old son. I always believe in human goodness at core & that there is good in everything.
Always fascinated with human behaviors & spirituality, & paradoxically with technology & innovations.
Founder of CompuTechNet, a computer company helping thousands of clients for the past 25 years to create peace of mind around technology solutions as well as creating a bonding relation with his clients like extended family members.
I have been writing & researching for the past 6 years for the book I’m planning to publish, titled: “ The Secret Cycle of Givers & Receivers”, to help finding our purpose in life, by collaborating each other’s unique gifts.
I’m a citizen of the planet earth & I live in Phoenix, Arizona at the moment.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always been fascinated with books, specially the ones that were reflecting true history stories as well as psychological & spiritual books, and off-course technology and innovation has always been my hobby & information that I would want to stay up-to-date.

I wrote my first 3 page story when I was about 15, but I really became interested in writing at about 10 years ago when I started reflecting my understandings & experiences to Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book “The invisible force” and off-course encouragements from my younger brother, Payam, pushed me to write more.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have too many favorite authors, but the one whom really inspired me and introduced me to the other authors was Dr. Wayne Dyer, after I read his book ” You’ll see it, when you believe it “, and I was honored to walk & talk with Dr. Dyer before he passed away. May he rest in peace.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’m still working on my book ” The secret Cycle of Givers & Receivers”, but the piece I wrote in the book ” When I rise I thrive ” was inspired after my talk at DEBx which was an affirmation & personal experience for ” Life is happening FOR us & not TO us.”

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Richmond, Virginia. As an adult, I have lived all over the country. I currently live in Phoenix with my husband Todd, and my two dogs Honey and Jack. After seeing thousands of clients in my hypnosis practice I decided to shift focus and find my true passion. I love making book publishing accessible for aspiring authors. I create group books with authors who want to use authorship to help them build their brand in an affordable and easy way all while delivering professionally produced books and media which help readers with personal transformations. It’s wonderful to see a new author get excited about their book and help them fulfill a life long dream of authorship.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I remember reading books to my stuffed animals as a small child. I loved books and the journey’s I would go on as a result. I loved the pictures that were painted in my mind, how all the characters came to life and the wisdom I would receive in connecting with the stories. I began writing short stories when I was around 10 years old. The stories I would write would get played out in my grandmother’s basement with childhood friends and my cousin. I currently focus my attention on Non-Fiction, but I do love a fun story.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark. I think Wayne Dyer inspires me most in my writing. I really love the simple wisdom and his ability to tell a story with meaning.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Currently, I am launching a group book with 57 other authors called When I Rise, I Thrive: Healing Trauma Through Shared Stores Of Personal Transformation. A deeply transformative book featuring shared stories of breakdown to breakthrough. Helping the reader know they are never alone, no matter what challenges they may face. We come together to express a joined voice of hope specifically concerning: divorce, depression, illness, traumatic injury, emotional and physical abuse.

Featured Interview With George Thomas Clark

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky and raised in Sacramento where I lived and worked a variety of jobs until 1991 when I moved to Bakersfield, land of oil wells and country music, and for me a great place to write and teach English as a Second Language for adults. I used to have two full-time jobs, teaching and writing. Now I only write.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As I kid I was much more a newspaper reader than a book reader. Our family subscribed to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee, and the Sacramento Union, and I spent a lot of time reading all of them and well remember Herb Caen, Charles, McCabe, and other distinguished columnists at the Chronicle. After graduating from high school I started reading lots of books independently and soon started writing at about age 19. Like many young writers, I lacked discipline and had to build it over the years.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway, John Cheever, and William Trevor are three of my favorite writers of fiction. I enjoy the nonfiction works of Joan Didion and David Halberstam.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
In search of stimulating stories, I interviewed prostitutes in Madrid, Mexico City, Havana, and Managua and on many boulevards in the United States, and talked to detectives and rode the rough roads of social workers who deal with human trafficking, which is contemporary slavery, and toured the tattered, handmade shelters of the homeless and also interviewed them on the streets and in shelters, and conversed with the poor in the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, and Spain, and sometimes used several lives to create composite stories, and even a few tales, and everywhere the author ventured he witnessed struggles of those whose lives are bound In Other Hands.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a single mom, indie author, secretary for the Courtney Anne Rice Performing Arts Scholarship and I love to write! I was raise primarily in Daytona Beach, FL, but have lived all over. I acquired the nickname “Gypsy” when I was young and do not like it. Gypsy is a derogatory word, though most people aren’t aware of it. I have 2 dogs, Bosco and Lucky, who have their own Instagram, 2 lizards named Skye (beared dragon) and Cerberus (leopard gecko) and a tiger salamander (amphibian) name Richard.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
The first time I was grounded at 8’ish I think? I was only allowed to read when I was grounded and my late stepmom bought me a ton of children’s addition Greek mythology and classics like Heidi and Oliver Twist. Once Anne McCaffery’s Pern series came inot m life, I was addicted!

I started writing in the 7th grade when my amazing English teacher at the time, Mrs. Beachy at Silver Sands Middle, realized I was dyslexic and basically forced me to write a bunch of short stories and would edit them herself and show me where I had gotten confused. She was incredibly patient with me and submitted a short story I had written to our local newspaper’s writing contest. I took second and bawled my eyes out because I knew I could do it after all. That woman was a saint, and I don’t know that I’d be writing without her.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Harper Lee, Anne Mccaffery, Jacqueline Carey, Jane Austen, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman….

Tell us a little about your latest book?

Featured Author Kim Petersen

Featured Interview With Kim Petersen

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a Sydney girl! I was raised in the southern suburbs of Sydney, Australia in the hub of the melting pot. I moved from Sydney to Queensland when I was 21 years old, and have never returned as a resident. I didn’t stay in Queensland for long though – I soon discovered that while I adored the Gold Coast as a holiday destination, living there was an entirely different story. It was hot and crowded, and not nearly as glamorous as I thought – besides, I got tired of seeing those gold-bikini parking babes strutting about the streets.
I now along the NSW south coast and I have a cat. A lazy one.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As a child – anything fairytale. Golden Books were my thing. Teenage years switched to the Sweet Valley High series, and matured into books by Virginia Andrews, Jackie Collins and Anne Rice.

I started writing stories in my head long before I penned them. Somehow, I always knew I’d write books, but it wasn’t until a profound event occurred in my life, setting off a personally-transforming chain of events that I sat down and wrote my first book, Millie’s Angel in 2016.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Nowadays, some of my all-time favorites are Dan Brown’s, Angels & Demons, Sally Beauman’s Destiny, Harold Robbins, A Stone for Danny Fisher, and Bryce Courtenay’s, Jessica. I also loved Elizabeth Hunter’s, The Scribe.
I read across genres.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Untamed Destinies is the result of a collaborative effort between myself, Beth Prentice and Catherine Evans. Those two women have been nothing short of amazing to work with and I’m proud to present Untamed Destinies: a romance anthology. Readers will discover that each novella contained in the anthology is true to our unique voices our audience has come to expect – Beth weaves her words around cozy mystery romance, Catherine has her sweet country romance flavor, and I delve into the mystical side of love with a little sizzle and touch of paranormal. I think readers will be delighted and entertained with the different stories found in Untamed Destinies – there’s something for everyone who likes a good romance.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up as an Army brat and had the opportunity to live and travel all over the world. We spent time stationed in Panama, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and a variety of places across the US. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a special education teacher, and I am currently serving as a Special Education Instructional Coach.
Throughout my career, I have experienced first hand how the stresses of life can take a toll on your physical and mental health. I embarked on a multi-year self-help journey and now strive to teach others ways to find a healthy, balanced life. Through my book, YouTube channel, and blog, I share with authenticity and vulnerability how to use practical habits and routines to Create a Life You Love.
When I am not writing, I enjoy Latin and Ballroom dancing, painting, running, and watching old black and white musicals with my cat, Ginger Rogers.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always been drawn to books and would frequently read until my alarm went off for school the next morning. Growing up I dabbled in writing, including poetry. As an adult, I started a book series in my late 20’s but put it on the back burner when I decided to get married and move to another state. Now in my mid-30’s, I am so thrilled to be a published author.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am currently in a phase of life where I am reading mostly self-help and leadership books, but I do love to get lost in a good fiction novel.
Some of my favorite authors include; Brene Brown, Jen Sincero, Byron Katie, and John C. Maxwell.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Create a Life You Love is part self-help, part memoir. It takes the reader through my own multi-year self-help journey. I started as a skeptic filled with negative self-talk and terrible self-esteem.
I want each reader to know that they were not created to live a mediocre life consumed by stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. We each have the power to create an extraordinary life and accomplish goals we never dreamed possible. By intentionally implementing the 10 incredibly simple practices outlined in the book, anyone can begin a beautiful adventure.

Whether you want to move carefully, making small changes in baby steps, or if you feel ready to embark on a complete personal overhaul, the simple practices outlines will help you change the way you show up to your life every day. It’s time to radically change your perspective and to begin Creating a Life You Love.

Featured Interview With Joshua Tommaso

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Joshua Tommaso. I was born and raised in Topeka, KS, which I still live in. I am married and have an 18 month old daughter. I am currently working on my MFA in Poetry at Southern New Hampshire University. I’ve had poetry published in magazines such as “Pancakes in Heaven” “Coffee Ground Breakfast” and recently in “Boned Stories Magazine” of which I am in the process of possibly having my poetry serialized through them, just waiting on the editors official decision. I have three dogs, a Siberian Husky named Blue, a Bassett Hound named Little Ann, and a Golden/Black Lab mix named Luna. When I am not reading, writing, or doing homework, I enjoy hiking with Blue and going on long walks with her. I also love to spend time with all three dogs at our local dog park. So in a sense, dogs is a second hobby for me.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I always loved “Where the Red Fern Grows” by Wilson Rawls (Still my favorite book of all time), and I love poetry by Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Frost. I’ve always loved to write since I was in middle school. I recently about three years ago really got into reading, so much so I’m averaging about 50 books a year. (about one per week) and since I’ve been reading more, I’ve been writing more. I realized this is my true passion and decided to go back and get my MFA in Poetry.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Lately Christian fiction books and epic poetry is my favorite. I’m now finishing up the “Left Behind” series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. I only have two left in the 16 part series. I enjoyed it so much, I went ahead and bought several other series by LaHaye to read. I’m also really into “The Iliad” and “The Odyssey” of Homer, as with other epic poems by other authors.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My book “The Milkman” is inspired by my daughter. When she was a newborn, I told her a story that I made up just for her. I noticed every time I told her the story and gave her milk, she would fall asleep for me. So I decided to make my story for her into a book. Here is the synopsis for the book.
“A baby named Josie is crying up a storm, and no matter what Mommy and Daddy did, they just can’t get baby Josie to fall asleep. During the evening, while the milkman is finishing up his route delivering milk, he hears poor Josie crying, so he offers Mommy and Daddy some help. The milkman brings his determination, and some milk, to get her to fall asleep for the night.” Josie is my daughters nickname for Josephine, for which this book is dedicated to and based upon.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and presently live there. I always considered my own “small town” so when I was around 27 I moved to Los Angeles, CA for 3 years to do acting. It didn’t quite turn out like I wanted and ended up back in Texas but it was a learning experience.
I have a little chihuahua named “Mista” after this character from the movie/book/play The Color Purple. My sister named him because he thinks he runs everything in the house.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’m not sure if anyone remembers that show with Levar Burton called Reading Rainbow but I was pretty young when I got into books. I even enjoyed creating my own books out of ducktape, cardboard, and notebook paper. I still have those little booklets in a box. In 5th grade, my class had a project to write a story and created a huge book out of cardboard and illustrated it myself. It’s pretty intense. I was thinking about rewriting those stories and making a real children’s book.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Even though I wrote fiction I love non-fiction books about spirituality. I love stories about mythology, however. Some of my favorite authors when it comes to fantasy are like C. S. Lewis, Rick Riordan, and Anne Rice. I like writing a story from the 1st person POV. I feel like it adds more suspense because you learn things as the character does which is a style some of the authors I enjoy use.
I also want to bring more supernatural/ paranormal fiction to stories involving African Americans. I don’t think there’s enough of that. One African American author, Octavia Butler, paved the way for that.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
So my latest is book 5 of a series. You can read it on its own because it’s an ongoing adventure itself. My main character is named Andrew and he and his twin brother have supernatural abilities because their grandfather is a fallen angel. (that’s the backstory covered in other novels) In this story, there’s a ring of murders happening and a secret group of demon hunters calls on Andrew to join their ranks to assist. The demon hunters use magic to stop evil and Andrew’s dad is a die-hard Christian and doesn’t want him to take part. Andrew is also reluctant because he’s in college, trying to be somewhat normal and this world of demons and angels has just bombarded his dating life. What Andrew doesn’t know is that the demon hunters know far more than they are letting on and he’s way more powerful than he realizes. Andrew will discover the hidden world that exists parallel to ours while questioning his relationships, beliefs, and ideas about truth, love, and evil. I like to think of it as a philosophical adventure.

I was born on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean, spent my childhood in the savannas of Southern Africa and have worked in South East Asia, North America and Europe. I’ve been an accidental traveler all my life, and have lived in fifteen cities, in seven countries, on four continents to date. I’m a recovering nomad who now calls Canada home.

I’m also a bit of a rebel and left home at a young age to distance myself from a difficult childhood. I worked for minimum wage, cleaning stinky toilets at one point and sleeping in basement rooms to put myself through a bachelor’s degree. I went on to get an MBA from Europe and worked my way through the corporate world for more than a decade until I rediscovered my life’s passion for books and social change.

Today, I write, speak and connect with readers with one goal in mind – to inspire and empower the lives of young women around the world, especially those who live in the darkest corners of our planet. I do what I do because I remember what it’s like to be a scared and lonely girl with few opportunities and little support.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My love for books began when I was very young. I used to read Jack and Jill stories using a torchlight under my blanket till late at night, when I was supposed to be asleep. I graduated to Enid Blyton and Nancy Drew, then onto Jules Verne, Isaac Asimov, Daniel Defoe and others. As a child who moved to a new city, a new country or a new continent every few years, I found it hard to make friends, so books became my companions, and authors, my allies. I gobbled up every book I got my hands on and savoured every word I read.

I remember one day, discovering a dusty, ripped copy of the Gulag Archipelgo, a difficult read about the Stalin era. This was not a book for a child, but there was not much else in my little school library, in that remote town where we lived at that time. That book taught me the strength of words. It taught me how storytelling can shine a powerful spotlight on injustice and how mere words can transform ideas and minds around the world.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m an eclectic reader and like most genres, except for horror and other such extreme themes. My two main criteria for all books are that the writing must be good (they must be very well written) and that the content must teach me something new.

I do read fiction and mostly enjoy stories from around the world as they open my eyes to the different and interesting ways we humans live everywhere. I love nonfiction books about self empowerment and entrepreneurship as they give me the inspiration to do what I do now.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest series is called the Red Heeled Rebels.

I started to write full length novels in 2010, mostly memoirs of a lifetime of traveling. It was only recently, I decided to write a story about a young woman who goes through experiences I witnessed, experienced or learned about, having lived in many places where women’s rights are not respected. I wanted to write a story about a girl who goes through adversity and hardship, but who rises up and fights back, and comes out stronger and wiser, despite what she endures. I write these stories because I’m compelled to write them.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Houston, Texas. Now I am preparing to move to Provo, Utah and get a chance to do some awesome things we don’t get around to much in the south. I’m ready to climb some mountains, go skiing, and buy some huckleberry ice cream. I have two adorable dogs, two beautiful little sisters, a handsome little brother, and wonderful parents.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve been facsinated with books for as long as I can remember, and certainly almost as long as I’ve been alive. When I was a little girl my father would read aloud to me and my sisters and tell stories at bedtime. During the day I begged my mother to read me books an upwards of 5-10 times a day. I wrote books and stories in my little girl handwriting from the time I was five-years-old and I haven’t stopped since then.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite genres to read are sci-fi and fantasy especially by authors like Brandon Sanderson, Brent Weeks, Patrick Rothfuss and others though I also have a passion for poetry and have been inspired by poets like Rupi Kaur, Nikita Gill, Amanda Lovelace and others like them.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book entitled What I Can’t Say is about my experience as a young girl with mental health issues specifically severe clinical depression and anxiety. It’s a full size collection of poetry that touches on several defining events in my life and the effects they produced. This collection is for anyone who wants to take a look into what it’s really like to battle mental illness, get a fresh perspective on it or who needs comfort in their own poetic struggles.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a life-long Hoosier and I presently live in rural north east Indiana. I have a menagerie of pets…a spoiled dog, 2 cats, a miniature horse, 2 goats and 4 chickens.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My dad taught me to read when I was about 4 and I’ve been a bookworm ever since. I started seriously writing around 2000 when I was encouraged by a special friend. He gifted me with a copy of Stephen King’s autobiography and a Writer’s Digest for my birthday that year and has continued to encourage me to this day.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read a lot of different things so I can’t say I have too many favorites…but I do love Nora Roberts and after hearing her speak at a conference in San Antonio a few years ago I admired her even more for her candid and bold persona.
I love romance… paranormal, contemporary and Western…and I get my inspiration for my stories from just about everything whether it’s a song or a phrase or a place.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest release is One Magick Yule and it was my 2018 NANOWRIMO project written in less than 30 days.
A solitary mystery writer has a secret of being a witch who talks to animals…and they talk back. When a mysterious new neighbor moves into the abandoned farm across the field from her, she has to be careful not to expose her Magick. But two meddlesome dogs and a Christmas Eve snowstorm changes everything for her.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a postgraduate student of economics at the University of Calcutta. I like books, writing, reading, adventure movies, RnB music and food!
I was raised and schooled in and around Kolkata, India. This is my current city as well.
I do not have pets.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My fascination with books started early. Around age 10 maybe. I love books so much that I never mark them with pen or pencil. Haha.
I started writing at age 12. I scribbled stuff at the back of my school notebooks and then I used to tear those pages and gift it to my English teachers. My teachers at school were my first and earliest readers. I decided to become a writer when I was 14 years old. There was this English teacher of mine who used to support me above everyone else. While others read my work, she provided a critique. And then one day when I presented her a poem, she scolded me! Like literally she scolded me. I was surprised and confused. And then she went on to state that she had seen many future Keats and Shelley’s of India all lost in the rat race of higher studies. She feared that I will end up doing the same. So I made a promise that day that I will not quit writing and surely gift India the first Debjeet Mukherjee!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Paulo Coelho and Khaled Hosseini.
I do not have a favorite genre as such and I read a wide range of books but I like reading poetry, short stories and adventures.
As far as inspiration is concerned, I am inspired reading the works of Paulo Coelho and when it comes to inspiration from an author as a person, I am more inspired by Vikram Seth although I never had the opportunity to meet him. I just love reading that man’s biography.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is my debut international e-book “VOYAGES Volume I – A Collection of Poetry”. The e-book was reviewed and rated Five Stars by Readers’ Favorite, USA and garnered favorable positive feedback from authors, bloggers and reviewers around the world. The e-book received a Gold Star in TheBookDesigner.com’s September 2018 e-Book Cover Design Awards. The book also received some important editorial reviews from Canadian poets and editors. A few were delayed due to Christmas and New Year Celebrations and therefore I am expecting some more reviews and awards early 2019. The response from my readers have been tremendous as well. I am grateful for their love, affection and support.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Bristol, Rhode Island, but have resided in Tampa, Florida since 1970. Since 2006 I have been writing novel under the pen name R.J. Eastwood. My first was the sci-fi epic “The Autopsy of Planet Earth (2017 publication), which won the 2017 Author’s Circle Award of Excellence, the 2018 Readers Favorite for Best Fiction, and the 2018 Book Talk Radio Book of the Year. I hope my newest novel “Midnight Black – The Purge” does as well. I’m currently working on a new novel, but at the moment the plot remains a secret.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was 14 years old I began writing short stories (very short.) I had no idea that as an adult I would write screenplays and TV productions as well as produce and direct. I always wanted to write novels, but my career in films and TV kept me busy until 2006 when I gave up active film & TV production to devote full time to writing.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read a lot of biographies, especially actors who I have worked with over the years. I am currently reading Steven Hawking’s last book and I also love Lee Child and Steven King.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Midnight Black – The Purge took me 13 months to complete. I wanted to take a man (in this case a DEA officer), place him in total isolation from society as the result of his brutal killing of a criminal who had perpetrated a crime against him. After 15 years he is released back into a society on the brink of disaster and finds himself embroiled in the wildest conspiracy he could have ever imagined. I also wanted to write a short novel – in this case 254 pages – and have the entire caper happen in a month. As one reviews said, “You will find yourself wanting to read this book in one sitting – I did.”
