Featured Interview With Mauro Martone
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Glasgow and then raised between Edinburgh and East Neuk of Fife. I attended residential school in the north of Scotland. I spent a gap period after school in Tayport upon Tay before returning home to Edinburgh where I still live. I keep rescue dogs.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started reading classics by Dickens and Grahame as a young child and progressed onto Puzo, Higgins and LeCarre as a teenager. I started writing around the age of 8 when I tried my hand at Wind in the Willows and Oliver Twist before then moving on to swashbuckling, seafaring fiction in my teens.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is George MacDonald Fraser and his Flashman series but presently I enjoy John Grisham and John Mortimer as well as Colleen McCulloch's Caesar series.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I am currently working on the follow up to Kertamen which is much of the same; an angelic struggle within a modern court case and with plenty of history flashbacks and magic.
