The blue-bloods’ favor is made all the more vital in the massive flooding and toxic environment rendered real by the climate crisis. The rich shamelessly exploit those below them, with their money protecting them from whatever crime they might commit. Freddie Molloy is a victim of this new pecking order. Mutated, cynical, and lonely, he holds no hope for the world he lives in. But all of that will change when he first hears a mermaid’s hypnotic song.
