Featured Interview With Ellen Behrens

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in a small town in Ohio where all I could do was ride my bike to the edge of town where cow pastures and corn fields blocked my view of the rest of the world. After decades of following a sort of tourist route along an unusual career path, I’m now a full-time RVer with my husband of more than twenty years. We live in a 200 square-foot RV, follow the weather on the backroads of America, and have been doing this for more than ten years now. My Rollin RV Mystery series is inspired by our travels.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve been reading since “Dot and Jim” (if you remember those books, you know I’m of a certain age), and forming my own sentences and stories since I could put fat pencil to lined paper. I still have my first story, “Harold,” which I wrote when I was about six. Wrote for the local newspaper in high school, freelanced in my twenties, did an MFA program in my thirties… Writing has been my most constant friend through my life.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read everything — from daily newspapers and magazines to nonfiction books to fiction. Nonfiction fills me with wonder–I’ve learned so much from books about birds and history, travel and politics. When I want to relax, I reach for authors like Janet Evanovich, Carl Hiaasen, and Michael Connelly; and I try to read every novel with RVing main characters I can find! My Goodreads “Want To Read” list is about as varied as you can imagine. Every book I read inspires me in some special way.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Superstition Victim” is the newest (third) installment in the Rollin RV Mystery series, and it was–as the first two books in the series were–inspired by some of our real-life experiences as full-time RVers, but this time Walt and Betty Rollin find themselves trying to figure out if a murder victim found in a nearby RV is in any way related to the oddball campground neighbor who can’t seem to be found. Local law enforcement can’t seem to get a handle on the case, so Walt and Betty have to bring their unique RVing experience to bear in order to solve the case. Set in the shadow of Arizona’s Superstition Mountains, Walt and Betty are also dealing with rude a salesman as they try to find a new RV. The last thing they need is high pressure tactics when everything around them is tense enough.

Every time I start a new Rollin RV Mystery I set the stakes a little higher–for the characters and for myself. That’s also meant this book took longer than either of the previous two books (“Pea Body,” the first book, is set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina; “Yuma Baby,” is set in Yuma, Arizona). And I wanted to allude to the earlier books without giving anything away.

Before Covid-19 hit, I used to swap books in RV parks, laundromats, used bookstores, and anywhere I could find paperbacks to snap up. Very early on I figured out I wanted each installment in my series to stand alone, so if you missed one or couldn’t read them in order you wouldn’t miss anything. There’s nothing worse than getting into a book only to feel as though you’re learning how everything turned out in the book before that one–a book you haven’t read yet. None of that here!

Featured Author Hong Wai Onn

Featured Interview With Hong Wai Onn

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Hong Wai Onn. Hong is my surname, by the way. I’m a chemical engineer by training and profession. I was born and grew up in a small family in Ipoh, Malaysia. Ipoh is the city which is famous with its surrounding mountains, limestone caves and food. I am also proud that Ipoh was listed as one of the best Asian destinations to visit in 2016 by Lonely Planet, a travel portal in the world. After my secondary school, I attended Universiti Malaysia Sabah, where I studied chemical engineering. Right now, I’m staying at Kuala Lumpur, a federal territory and the capital city of Malaysia. This is where the tallest twin towers in the world is located.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I got involved in the Institution of Chemical Engineers, I often found myself drawing upon my experiences at one of the country’s leading oil palm plantation companies. I learned that many of the experiences and knowledge I gained are lessons from which any chemical engineer could benefit from. Through my speaking engagements, I realize that there was tremendous interest in the society in gaining a better understanding of the inner workings of this profession. The seed was planted, but I still had not decided to capture my experiences on paper. I gained the final commitment and motivation to write my first book after I had a coffee talk with Mahbob Abdullah, a veteran of the palm oil industry and author of “Planter’s Tales” and “Planter Upriver”. He passed me a book authored by him entitled “Now You Too Can Write!” and encouraged me to share my experiences with others in the form of writing, just as he did. That is how my first nonfiction memoir book, “A Chemical Engineer in the Palm Oil Milling Industry” came about in my late thirties.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I like to read autobiographies and biographies, business, memoir, and self-help. I have been influenced by every single book I have ever read. However, to keep this section a reasonable length, I’m counting Mahbob Abdullah and John Maxwell. Mahbob Abdullah wrote few books that made me want to write and publish my work. He shared his life as a plantation manager from a view of a very experienced Malaysian planter, rather than a European one. There are almost perfect stories in “Planter’s Tales” and “Planter Upriver”. His book “Now You Too Can Write!” has influenced me greatly too. John C. Maxwell wrote many books. He has influenced me the way I receive and participate in leadership along with public speaking.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“A Chemical Engineer in the Palm Oil Milling Industry” is the first and also the latest book that I have published (in August 2020). Palm oil is a big business. Palm oil has been widely used in food and non-food industries. More than half the products on sale in supermarkets are made with palm oil—yet many people hardly know anything about this industry. They don’t even know chemical engineers have a significant role to play in this industry. Hence, I am motivated to write a book to provide a series of episodes for readers to discover the opportunities chemical engineers have in the palm oil milling industry. I hope this non-fiction memoir book could bring readers closer to the most enigmatic profession of all time. Well, I’m also excited to share that my book has received Literary Titan Gold Award and a 5-star review rating from Readers’ Favorite! The book is available at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Kobo and other major retailers.

Featured Interview With Noel Wellington

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born in the Soviet Union, during the Cold War, and now living in Canada, I have been producing volumes of high-quality technical documentation throughout my 25-year long software developer career. Writing technical stuff seemed mighty boring, and I started writing fiction on the side. Now, I have completely switched over to fiction. For the past four years, I have been working on the trilogy below, as well as on a number of short stories based on it, and a related novella.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started reading very early. When I went to school at the age of 7, I already knew how to read. Since then I spent all my spare time reading.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I grew up reading mostly works of Russian writers. Later I read Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, JRR Tolkien.

My favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy.

My writing is mostly inspired by my family and the events in the world around us.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
The God’s Bracelet is a trilogy, consisting of the books “Finding Ishtar”, “Double Hazard”, and “The Mute Eye”. It had started off as “The God’s Bracelet” per se, but it quickly outgrew a reasonable limit for a single book. Their genre is a blend of science fiction and fantasy. My goal in writing them was to be original. I had avid fantasy lovers proof-read them, with a single goal: to find any similarities to existing lore. They could not! Essentially, I have written these books for myself. They are my refuge from the grim reality of our world. Writing them, I laughed, cried, and froze in frightened anticipation of the culmination. My goal is fulfilled, even if none of them will ever be published, though they should be.

The main protagonist, Gerald Burns, is an officer, assigned to a space exploration mission. He touches an alien artifact, and all hell breaks lose. His life turns upside down, and mysterious events start happening all across our universe and far beyond. As the story unravels, the protagonist begins to change. The more he changes, the more he comes across strange creatures, and the more they keep changing him. Only one thing cannot change: his kindness. This is what this trilogy is about, and the actual sci-fi stuff is secondary to the trials and challenges that destiny subjects Gerald to. The trigger event plunges the protagonist into ages of loneliness, and he seeks love and friendship, which he eventually finds after many trials. He could rest on his laurels, but now that he has a soulmate, they together keep chasing dreams, discovering more mysteries, and putting their feelings to the test.

The first book, “Finding Ishtar”, is ready for print. The second book, “Double Hazard”, is nearing completion. The third book, “The Mute Eye”, is well underway. I have teamed up with an artist, who has done a piece of concept art and several cover pages and is working on chapter illustrations.

Featured Author Alexander Schlafmann

Alexander SchlafmannFeatured Interview With Alexander Schlafmann

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi, my name is Alexander Schlafmann, and I was born in Ukraine. Now I live in Germany in the City of Düsseldorf. No, I don’t have pets because it’s a big responsibility and I can’t leave them at home when I have to go to work every day. When I have my own family I get some pets for my kids and then I can enjoy time spending with them all too.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started reading books pretty late. My first book I had in my hands when I was 10 years old, but I didn’t like it. It was way too thick and boring. It made my love for books not greater, instead it diminished it. I started writing books with 27. Not so long ago. Now I am 29 years old. I was not wise enough to write earlier, but now I have a lot to share with the world.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
There are no favorite authors of mine. I don’t read books like normal people do. When I read books I search for wisdom. And really wise books and authors are a rare thing. That’s why I said to myself: “Boy, we have to change it!”. Inspiration comes from myself. I inspire myself to write books. I don’t have a supportive family as many people do. I am a lonely wolf. If I don’t take care of myself none else will. Same goes for my inspiration. If I don’t inspire myself, who else will do it for me?

Author Billy J. BarnumFeatured Interview With Billy J. Barnum

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born in Bridgeport CT where my direct descendant died. He was “The greatest showman on earth” non other than P.T.Barnum. Raised in Stratford CT, and now reside in Ansonia CT. I have 2 birds and a cat crazy huh? lol 🙂

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing in my early to mid teens and I had a vivid imagination and started out writing songs and playing the guitar. Through natural progression I then started writing poetry that just poured out of my mind like some unknown spirit was responsible for writing them while my hand and pen were moving.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Favorite authors may be Dr. Seuss the cat in the hat and red fish, blue fish. It’s poetry and will live forever through our youth. I like profound poetry like the kind I write. I don’t really have an inspiration for writing when it comes to me I write it down quickly before it’s gone.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book “Move over Shakespeare Tales From The Baron” is being called in certain circles one of the greatest poetry book of a generation for which I am very humbled by that assumption. It has imagination, depth, tragedy, love, humility, sadness, and yes even humor.

Featured Interview With Sergio Bersanetti

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Turin, Italy, but my job first and my curiosity later brought me to places like Los Angeles, Manchester (Connecticut), Munich, Barcelona and Cracow. In all these cities I spent from some months to several years, and I learned a lot about different lifestyles and points of view. By the way, that is something that I often try to convey in my books too.
Now I’m back in Italy and I live next to my parents and my brother. My mother has three cats, which unfortunately I’m allergic to even though I really like them, and they seem to like me even more 🙂

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I can’t even remember when I started reading books, I guess the answer is since I learned to read, although of course initially they were children books.
About writing: for several years I wrote articles about music and sports, and I did interviews to fellow musicians (I make music too). Only fairly recently I switched to books; my first output was a self-help guide, then I gradually switched to fiction, where I intend to settle. At the moment I feel comfortable with novellas, but I’m sure that one day I will write a novel too.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read a little bit of everything, although I seem to enjoy mostly inspirational books. What I mean by that is either non fiction that teaches how to live at my best, or biographies of people who made a difference in this word.
When it comes to fiction, Elena Ferrante is my hero. I wish I could write half as good as she does.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Antonio’s Wait” is quite and unusual book, in the sense that it blends non fiction and fiction. I wrote down some ideas on how I would like the world to be on several subjects, from children education to work relationships and so on. That is the non fiction or inspirational part of the book, and I completed it in a couple of years. It was not meant to be part of a book, initially, so I was writing only when I felt deeply connected to the thought that my mind produced.
Then I built a story around all these quotes and thoughts, which was really fun to do and took me just about one month to complete.
Antonio is a kind man, quite naive and also funny in his own way. Luckily he has a stong woman by his side, who takes care of the practical aspects of life even though she is a kind spirit too.
Then we have some other family members and friends, who also make his life more interesting and sometimes challenging.
The story develops during the 12 hours that preceed the birth of his first son, so I had to use some flashbacks or the book would have only 30 pages or so 🙂

The first book in my series FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL starts just before a pandmic changes the world for ever. It concentrates on the first year for the survivors.

Featured Author Cady Hammer

Featured Interview With Cady Hammer

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hello! My name is Cady Hammer, and I am the author of Chasing Fae, a young adult fantasy novel that is just about to be released! I grew up in North Carolina, and I currently attend college in Virginia. I have always been a writer. I wrote my first novel at the age of eleven between classes. Although that text will never see the light of day, I continued experimenting with stories throughout my school years. I was often teased for being off in my own world a bit, but I have never hesitated to invite others along on the adventure I was weaving. My college studies of history and anthropology play a major role in the worldbuilding in my stories, particularly this debut novel. It is always my goal to create a world that readers want to step into, a world where they can breathe in the air and feel the wind on their skin as they stroll through a market or a city center. I also run the internationally-read website, Fluff About Fantasy, a place for young writers to learn the genre-specific craft of writing fantasy and be inspired by what they can accomplish. It is important to me to get more young people writing and creating. I know that there are a lot of talented middle school, high school, and college students who just need a little push to get them started.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Reading was the first activity that captivated me as a child. As a two year old, I begged my parents to read these giant Disney anthologies of stories over and over again to me. My first word was “again”. My mom tells me that my grandfather was the only one who would read all 200 pages and then start back at the beginning when I asked for more. I learned to read by memorization at first, but through that, I was able to recognize words and learn quickly. All of my elementary school teachers had a hard time keeping enough books in the classroom for me to read! That fascination never died through middle school and high school although I regret that I have much less time to read now. I started writing stories as young as six or seven, but I started thinking about longer form writing like novels around ten. I wrote my first book when I was eleven. I think it would be considered a novella now. I started and stopped several novels over the next eight years, mostly YA contemporary romances and middle grade fantasies. I love the process of creating new worlds and characters. It’s just so much fun.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Sarah J. Maas, Cassandra Clare, Julie Kagawa, Victoria Aveyard, Amanda Joy, Rick Riordan. I could honestly go on and on. Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author of all time; I love her Court of Thorns and Roses series. Rick Riordan is also amazing. I grew up reading the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books. All of these authors are wonderful, and I know there are at least a dozen others I could include. Fantasy is my favorite genre, of course. Sarah J. Maas is my absolute favorite author of all time, and both her Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses series inspired me to tackle my own fantasy book. I listened to a book talk of hers when A Court of Thorns and Roses first came out, and it was amazing. She listens to music when she writes to inspire different sections or scenes just like I do, and hearing her process and her laughter when she spoke made me feel like I could be an author someday just like her. I am a huge Rick Riordan fan; his Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series were a big part of my childhood. The Harry Potter series and the Mortal Instruments series are also two of my favorites; the former was my introduction to fantasy, and the latter was my favorite series for the longest time. Cassandra Clare writes some of the best characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I could just go on and on.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Chasing Fae follows the story of Grace Richardson, a young mortal woman whose only concerns are providing for her family, playing her violin, and spending as much time as possible with her brother, Leo. When Leo goes into service in the Fae’s world as a mercenary, she expects him to return with the honor that he deserves. When Leo suddenly dies in an unspecified accident, not a word, medal, or penny comes down from the higher-ups. Suspecting foul play, Grace disguises herself as a Fae and sneaks into the Upper Realm to get some answers. She anticipates being in way over her head, but the Fae soldier who discovers her true identity only a day in? Not so much. Now Grace is forced to drag Aiden along as she tries to work out exactly how and why her brother died. Along the way, she has no choice but to confront her prejudices against the Fae as she attempts to sort out the difference between the honest and the dishonest. Political conspiracies, demon realm escapades, and family secrets will all lead Grace to the answers she’s looking for… and some that she isn’t. I absolutely loved writing this book. This was the first idea in a long time that I had been able to take from start to finish and keep the same level of passion throughout the process. I love my main character, Grace; she is such a stubborn and driven character, yet she has some emotional fragility. I hope that she really resonates with readers. I love the world that the story is set in, the Three Realms. The Upper Realm is Fae, the Middle Realm is mortal, and the Lower Realm is demon. The Upper Realm has twelve Noble Houses for readers to navigate, each with their own unique landscape and culture. I spent eight months working on the worldbuilding for Chasing Fae, so I hope that readers love it.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am an author, investigative journelist and freelance writer. I am also a retired Air Force Master Sergeant with 24 years of active service. After I retired from active service I operated as a private defense contractor in the Middle East. I was raised in a small town called Carplake located in the northern most part of the lower peninsula of Michigan. I am now living in a village called Pinili in the province of Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. I have two dogs, and a whole farm full of livestock.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was five years old when I started reading. I was writing poetry and short stories by the time I was seven.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My two very favorite authors are R.A. Salvatore, and Luis L’amour. My favorite genres span everything from science fiction to westerns. My inspiration comes from hundreds of religious, metaphysical and spiritual writings from around the world. I guess you could say that a higher power inspires me to write.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
A young warrior who can speak to spirits and animals; gifted with an inner sight no one understands.
A Sabretooth oathbound to protect him.
An orphaned Polar Bear with undying loyalty.
A soldier from an Earth in its last days.
A giant from a distant past.
A Raven who spies upon the doings of men.
Beings who wield cosmic power with mere thoughts and experiment with whole worlds in order to create a Utopia destined to fail.
All pieces in a game of secrets and intrigue played by a mysterious artifical lifeform.

A Game of Gods at its very core is a book about second chances. It is about forgiveness and acceptance. My story took two years to write, but the bulk of it was written between June and Decembee of 2019. During this time I went through a very traumatic Spiritual Awakening that had seperated me from everything I had once stood for and identified with.

I was born and raised in California, and I haven’t left. I have 3 cats who I’m pretty certain wouldn’t hesitate to chew on my squishy bits should I die and become unable to feed them.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have loved books and reading since I was very young. I was an introverted kid and books helped me get through some of the toughest parts of school, namely the other kids.

I began writing in 2013 with my first book about my time as an exotic dancer.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors include Stephen King, Brian Keene, Mary Roach, Carol Goodman and about 1000 others.

I love horror fiction, but I also enjoy books on philosophy, science, and psychology.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book Expose Yourself is a non-fiction book about taking risks, critical thinking, and humanism using stories from my career as an adult entertainer to illustrate my points.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Glendale, CA alongside a twin brother. In high school, I was on the

named Prince. I used to substitute teach, but now I am an Adapted
Physical Education (APE) Teacher and currently working on my APE master’s degree from Western
Michigan University.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was in elementary school, I started reading, Alfred Hitchcock and the Three
Investigators. I collected almost the entire series. The mystery of the Green Ghost was my
favorite. I even made a creative stitchery book cover of it. I was always writing short stories.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Robert Arthur, M.V. Carey, & William Arden. My favorite genre to read are cartoons. I am
inspired by Johnny Hawkins’ Daily Lesson in Humor, Mark Parisi’s Off the Mark, Family
Circle, Ziggy, Bizarro and Mother Goose and Grim.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My book is called, Mrs. White’s Sub Snips. It is 60 black and white one-frame cartoons of what a
substitute teacher goes through on a daily basis taken from my 15 years of real-life experiences.
The illustrator is Caitlin Skaalrud. It is from the sub’s point of view. Though, it is comical and
entertaining, it also exposes the ups and the (astonishing) downs of substitute teaching. This
book, which is geared towards adults, is a coloring book. A lot of research has shown how
coloring books relieve stress even for adults.

Featured Author Neboysha Saikovski

Author Neboysha SaikovskiFeatured Interview With Neboysha Saikovski

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am the author working on the Pink Panthers trilogy series, including the first novel “The Greatest Thieves in the World”, which was published globally in June this year. I am a logistics specialist having worked for large international organizations and corporations such as the United Nations, Halliburton/KBR, or DynCorp, being stationed for twenty years working in areas consumed by ferocious civil wars in Bosnia and Serbia or the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. I am an author who lived and worked in 4 continents and witnessed 4 wars, walking the paths of my characters, therefore being able to turn my extensive experience into inspirational and instructive fiction and non-fiction narratives. I am telling stories about paradoxes of the modern world where evil reigns while chivalry yet survives and write only about real-life stories which have it all, a powerful blend of real-life situations and crime thriller, shaking family experience and shocking war and political drama.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I used to be shy about my writing, which I have been practicing as a hobby for some 25 years or so, writing essays and stories predominantly about the war experience. Then I was too absorbed with everyday life, family, and business, and couldn’t stand exposure to the creative side of my personality. Slowly, I’ve completed the novel and pitched it for almost a year with no success, nobody in my homeland in Bosnia and Serbia offered to publish it. But suddenly, in March, I found myself locked down, with nothing but time, a notebook full of notes and complete novel in Serbian language and a chance to make some sense of this crazy moment in time. So, I had it edited and translated into English and published it in the USA first before my homeland. Only after that, the publishing offers from my homeland started popping up. Nothing is impossible!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love the raw style and brisk observation of all the dark and decay in human nature and society as brilliantly portrayed by Bukowski of the modernists and Dostoevsky of the classics. I admire Dostoevsky as a writer with the natural talent of scanning through depths of the human mind, as well as skill to infect the reader with the lucidity and passion with which he writes of his views and ideas. I love Bukowski, the dirty nihilistic realist with unquestionable talent and an unrivaled passion for writing as sheer pleasure. Despite all of the ups-and-downs of his disturbed life, constant intoxication, loneliness, misogyny, and personal problems, Bukowski actually wrote. His novels and poems are so simple — simple words, sentences, and ideas — and yet so lively, deep and relatable. The writing style I tend to be developing is based on that premise – digging deep into characters and write lively and relatable true-life stories.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
This novel is the first part of a trilogy that deals with the socio-historical context of emergence, rise, and (temporary) fall of the famous and powerful international robber group, Pink Panthers. I have been writing my first novel “Pink Panthers: The Greatest Thieves in the World” for the last three years but I dreamt about writing it for the last 15 years since I read the reports of their first robberies. I considered them yet another gang of robbers who dare defy the society and its norms taking such risky steps. However, as time went on, I realized that all the risk that the Pink Panthers had invested in the robberies was very well calculated in the overall equation. I don’t even have to mention that the locations chosen by the Pink Panthers sounded bombastic as if from the best Hollywood production. Paris, London, Amsterdam, St. Tropez, Dubai! The ideas that the Pink Panthers introduced as a ‘patent’ in committing the robberies were more intriguing than even the greatest movie-minds could come up with. And I’m not just talking about disguising themselves as women, fleeing by speedboat and the like, but that all the robberies were committed without a single victim, and that’s what makes the Pink Panthers unique in the criminal world. With their imagination and extremely expressed audacity in carrying out their robberies, they left the world breathless, including me.

By personalizing the functioning of criminal cartels, the horrors of war, the violent discord of country and pitiful dissolution of a family, and showing the results of these bold events have on individuals is the general theme I tried to dive into with this novel. The light form of adventure drama shows the correlation of organized crime, social anomalies, wars, and interests of the great who ruthlessly manipulate and destroy the lives of the small, from individuals to nations. The background story shows the entire process of the diamond business, how diamonds come to jewelry stores, from relentless exploitation of rich deposits of poor third-world countries and inciting bloody civil wars in them, to the intertwining of the diamond business with drug cartels, human trafficking, interests of banks, corporate and military-industrial magnates and diplomatic-political machinations.

If you’re curious what it’s like to be a Pink Panther, read this book. If you have the courage, dare follow the steps of our heroes, embark on an action-adventure with the Pink Panthers, and personally experience the world’s most famous diamond robberies. Furthermore, find out how diamonds are made and come to that array of glittering shops, from the hot sands of Africa where greedy corporations exploit human and mineral resources in collaboration with corrupt politicians, through shining modern Europe all the way to Dubai. Get to know the dark world behind all that glitter and glow of riches, touch the blood, sweat, and tears that they represent in reality.

Featured Interview With Roderick Millington

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in Birmingham, England, I have travelled extensively and have also lived in Italy, Spain and Greece. Today, I reside in Burton-on-Trent in central England. My passions (aside from writing) are diverse, but include classical music, theatre and discovering new wines. I have been a vegetarian for 38 years and animals and the environment are also extremely important to me.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I wrote my first book at the age of 13 – it was terrible! However, I pressed on and for most of my working life I have been a writer/editor, specializing in Middle Eastern business and education. I began to return to writing books in 2017 when I released ‘Pax’, an investigation into a possible past life on the island of Sicily. I have always loved reading and have far too many books – but they are going nowhere!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read mostly non-fiction, primarily classical music and spiritual books. However, my collection is fairly large and I also have many books on art, Shakespeare and travel. Occasionally, I do read fiction and enjoy writers such as Jack Kerouac, William S Burroughs, Stephen Vizinczey and Imre Kertesz.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
In ‘The Devil’s Playground: An Investigation into the Dark Side of Electronic Voice Phenomenon’, I introduce readers to the modern world of fallen angels, with the book’s unique strength lying in its selection of 21 sound clips. Readers are able to listen to genuine examples of demons threatening and cajoling, including the first-ever recording of the voice of Satan. This information is vital in an increasingly secular and materialistic world.

I am a journalist and have approached this whole subject with an open-minded, investigative attitude, and am only interested in the truth. And I will own up straight away to the fact that until recently I was one of the cynics who laughed at those who believe in the Devil. Then I heard his voice, and everything changed.

Featured Author Krystal Fernandes

Featured Interview With Krystal Fernandes

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Krystal Fernandes and I am a children’s books author. I was born and raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts and I still currently reside here. The area has a lot of history to it, and some spots are truly beautiful. I also don’t think I could live anywhere other than New England solely because we get to experience all four seasons! I would never want to only experience one season year round. I like a little bit of everything.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always loved books and reading, but writing is something I’ve always had a passion for. Even as a young child, I’d say around nine or ten years old, I began writing stories. Some were written in rhyme and others were not. In my younger years, I dreamed I would become a published author, but of course I didn’t really think it would become a reality. For me, being an author isn’t about being the most famous or bringing in a ton of money- it’s about sharing my stories with the world. It’s about knowing that some child, somewhere, is curling up with my book and smiling because of the words I wrote. It’s about those moments when a grown-up sits down to take the time to read to a child. Just knowing you might be one child’s favorite author. That’s why I enjoy writing children’s books. That is what it’s truly all about.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’ve always looked up to Dr. Seuss as an author and enjoyed reading his many books. I admire his ability to write a tale and carry out a plot, all written in rhyme. I think that is why strive to do the same. I feel like it’s a lost art and, not only do I get to tell a story, but I earn the chance to rise to the challenge of telling that entire story in rhyme.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
To date, I have two published books. My first story is called Jasper the Bold (ish) and it outlines the many fears a boy has- even though he claims he is the bravest around. It’s a lighthearted tale, written in rhyme, that exhibits the reality of fears, but does so in a humorous way. The most recent book that’s made its way to shelves is The Meany Monster. This monster spends her time trying to make Lucy feel terrible about herself. Its plot is geared towards teaching children self-love. I made the decision to use the uncommon spelling of “meanie” for a reason. If you read the story, you just might be able to figure out why!

Featured Interview With D.L. Lang

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Germany. I moved around a lot, spending the first half of my childhood in Texas and Louisiana, and fourth grade through university in Oklahoma. As an adult I’ve lived in California for almost 15 years now. Growing up I had many dogs, a few cats, a couple fish, and a hamster, but as an adult I just care for my plants. I have two cacti, a fern, a palm, sunflowers, and petunias.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I loved to read as soon as I learned how. I used to devour entire series like the Boxcar Children or Bad News Ballet. As a teenager I developed an interest in biographies, reading about my favorite musicians and comedians; for example, the Beatles, the Monkees, the Three Stooges and Monty Python. I began writing for fun around age 10, making up stories and trying to write song lyrics. Writing poetry is a hobby that has stuck with me throughout my life, helping me to process the world, and ultimately, it landed me with the honor of serving as Vallejo, California’s poet laureate.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
As an adult I mainly read non-fiction books. I enjoy learning about the world, reading about history and sociology. I also read a lot of poetry books by my contemporaries. I enjoy reading and writing social justice poetry, spiritual poetry, and nature poetry. Anything can inspire me. If I get really into a band, have a powerful experience, or research a subject I will want to write about it.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest poetry book is called This Festival of Dreams. I wrote many poems during the first part of quarantine during National Poetry Month, serving as exercises in gratitude as the world changes all around us. There are also some ekphrastic poems, social justice poems, and those I premiered at performances during the final four months of my poet laureateship.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
We like a lot of the Ken Burns documentaries and Ron Chernow who writes historical biographies.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
For 2 years, Rene Sepulveda dedicated his life, by returning to Alamogordo, to remember his mother, who died too early, and to honor his dad and the history of Alamogordo sports. Rene took on the task to catalog the history. After spending countless hours with newspaper clippings, mounds of boxes of photos; he realized there is a historically significant story that should be told. He then reached out to his special friend, Chris Edwards, to assist in bringing the story to life.
Chris came to New Mexico also researched, interviewed almost 100 people and reviewed 1000s of photos and agreed the story was bigger than just Coach Bob and Alamogordo. What follows is a 3 volume series book 1 released now that covers interscholastic high school sports and the politics around it as well as records and more from 1916 to present day.
The book is a comprehensive history that tells the stories of the many personalities from 1916 to 1996 that influenced New Mexico interscholastic sports in Track and Field, Cross Country, High School Football and beyond. Coach Bob Sepulveda had the longest consecutive State Track & Field Winning streak in the 90s of any New Mexico Coach. The book highlights the records and the stories of hundreds of athletes. The book series takes on the tough issues of the launch of national high school interscholastic sports standards, integration in the 50’s and 60’s, Title IX implementation and girls interscholastic championships, the politics around high school football and more. The book series contains the records of 100s of high school athletes, rich in dialog and interviews with athletes, coaches and community members. It tracks the successes and failures of some great athletes & coaches. The central characters in the book are Coach Bob and Marilyn Sepulveda paired with a variety of characters that played a role in the program success of the Alamogordo New Mexico Track and Field, Cross Country & Football programs. While the story is focused on a small town in New Mexico; it is national in scope; as many associated coaches and athletes had a national or international influence in athletics, politics and world events with the common theme of all being touched by the Alamogordo Track & Field, Cross Country or Football programs, Coach Bob Sepulveda and his legacy.

His story is one of hope and inspiration as is the story of his many athletes. “Coach Bob Sepulveda is just a good, hard-working coach and a good responsible person who cared about the kids in his charge. That for anyone who’s paying attention, is all the message that’s necessary”, per a Commentary by Rich Wright Assistant Sports Editor, The Albuquerque Journal.
