Featured Interview With Rose Titus

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in New England, and even though I’ve travelled the world, New England is where I know I belong. My Author Bio says I have two cats, but that is a little out of date, as I currently have just one cat. She was rescued from a local animal shelter and she is just the best cat in the entire world. I also have a great love and fascination for classic cars, and own a restored ’72 Buick Skylark, which I sometimes take to car shows and have driven in parades. But I usually just drive it around on weekends when the weather is nice, as I drive my little Veloster most of the time. (The Buick is a great car, but the gas mileage is terrible.) For fun I like to go to martial arts classes, visit libraries and museums, and plan my next writing project.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always loved books, and actually started writing when I was very little. When I was a kid I would just write childish stories on scrap paper. But one day, in my early 20’s, while reading a paperback science fiction novel, I said to myself, I could write better than this! I began writing more seriously and sending stories to small circulation literary magazines. I was first published in a small magazine called Lost Worlds. It was one of the happiest days of my life – I was like, Yes, I can do this!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have way too many favorite authors to list, but I do like Stephen King, Fred Saberhagen, PN Elrod, Tanya Huff, Kevin Anderson, and so many others. I love science fiction, horror, fantasy, but also I like a lot of non-fiction and history. I enjoy reading about cryptozoology and the paranormal – I can’t say that I believe in every supposedly true ghost or UFO story that I read, but some accounts of strange events really do make me wonder about things. I’ve also experienced a few things I can’t logically explain myself. Anyone interested in such things should probably read Michael Harner. I love his books. Also Brad Steiger – although his work seems to be more for entertainment, his books do inspire me. I love to read Loren Coleman and Linda Moulton Howe – but some of what Linda has to say really terrifies me. Don’t read her stuff before going to bed at night or you will have nightmares for sure.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My newest book is All the Way to the Moon, which is the third in the Vampire Next Door Series. But it’s not just about creatures of the night, it’s about the darkness in our society today.

Featured Interview With Mary Odile LeClair

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m an author living in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Originally, I’m born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I’m 41, and married to an amazing and awesome man named Adam. We’ve been together coming up on seven years, August 2023. No kids, but yes cats.

My first book, ‘Concrete Jungle,’ was released in September, 2021 on Amazon, through Kindle-Direct Publishing, as well as through my own writing production company, ‘Room with a View Productions.’

My next two books are coming out next year, in 2024. My next suspense/thriller fiction book is, ‘Sidewalk High,’ and it will be coming out in January, 2024. I’m also releasing a cookbook, closer to the end of 2024.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was about 7 or 8-years-old when I started writing. I was reading for a few years before that. I think that’s where my passion began.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite authors are Stephen King, Susanna Kaysen and Jeannette Walls. The three books that have definitely influenced me are:

‘The Body,’ by Stephen King.
‘Girl, Interrupted,’ by Susanna Kaysen.
‘The Glass Castle,’ by Jeannette Walls.

Three of my favourite books, ever. I’d highly recommend them. I was able to relate to these books on a deeper level, and they were extremely helpful to me in many ways. They still are. Thrillers are my favourite genre to read.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
‘Sidewalk High,’ is the name of my newest, upcoming suspense/thriller book. The many different trials and tribulations of growing up is what has inspired this book. The choices we make, or don’t. What we choose to be a part of, or not. It’s about different levels of life, and the many different people in it. It’s about life and death and everything in between. It’s about growing up, sometimes quicker than we like. It’s about learning the many lessons of the street, and not just the ones that you learn in a classroom. It comes from many different perceptions and multiple views, and the characters are all inspired by real life. It’s about standing up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am an international speaker, entrepreneur, artist, philanthropist, and mother of 2 kids. As a co-founder of Mindvalley, a leading publisher in the personal growth industry, I have dedicated the last 20 years to this career. I was born in Estonia and currently live here, although I was living in Malaysia and the USA as well. I am not sure if I can call them pets – I am a hobby farmer and I have a couple of sheep at my farm here in Estonia.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
With a two-decade-long experience in the industry, surrounded by friends, colleagues, and community members who have authored books, it felt like a natural path for me. The idea of writing a book had always lingered in my mind, as it did for many others in our community.

Throughout my life, I had various encounters with writing that sparked my interest. Even during my school years, literature classes instilled a love for writing in me. Beyond university, I continued writing as a form of personal enjoyment. Whether it was crafting captivating Instagram captions or sharing stories through mind-body marketing, I found pleasure in expressing myself through words.

Although I didn’t fully embrace the identity of a writer at first, the inclination was always present. When the COVID pandemic provided me with an abundance of free time, I finally took the opportunity to sit down and commence writing my book. As I progressed, my message began to take shape.

Upon completing the book and entering the publishing phase, I gradually came to the realization that I had become an author. It was a discovery that unfolded over time, but looking back, there were always signs that writing brought me immense joy. Writing the book was not solely a business decision; it served as an outlet for my creative self as a writer.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am a fiction fan – I love classic novels by various authors. A few of my favorites are Jane Austen,
Charlotte Bronte, Oscar Wilde, Oskar Luts – one of the most prominent Estonian authors, who painted the most beautiful (and thoughtful) pictures of ordinary life.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Perfection. We all dream of living by it, feeling it, being it…

And it is in the name of perfection, we demonise our flaws, make ourselves ‘less-than,’ and render ourselves vulnerable to the shame of not being good enough.

We live in a society that subliminally encourages us to wear metaphorical masks, slay our inner sadness, and ignore our imperfections, or as Kristina refers to them, her ‘dragons.’

Even within the world of personal development and spirituality, toxic perfectionism lurks in the shadows.

In Kristina’s upcoming book Becoming Flawesome, she reflects on her own story, her battle against perfectionism, and what it took for her to return to what she now deems to be her most authentic self.

Featured Interview With C. Britt

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I live in the midwestern United States with my husband, cat, and two dogs. I enjoy spending time sewing, photographing nature, playing video games, and (of course) dreaming up fictional worlds to write about. I’ve always been an avid reader, but in recent years, I’ve grown more and more excited about creating my own stories. Over the last few years, I’ve written hundreds of short stories and shared them on Reddit. (A few of which have received recognition on the Writing Prompts subreddit with their annual “Best of” writing competitions). Nowadays, I’m branching out and releasing my debut novel, Monstra Inter.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. Although, I did have a phase where I hated it (when it started being assigned in school and I had to write book reports and take tests over it, it took all the fun out of it). It took a while to get back into reading again. But eventually, one of my teachers helped me find an “assigned” book that I actually really enjoyed.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love reading fantasy and science fiction! And occasionally, I’ll seek out romance stories as well.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
We thought they’d never be real. We thought if they somehow became real, they’d eat brains. We thought they’d move slow and wouldn’t be able to think or plan… We thought wrong.
