The Bloody Awakening of the Anaxagorum by John Y. Graham
This first book in the Expeditions of the Six Fingers Series harkens back to classic dungeon crawls, except in its world, magic is just being discovered. Magic swords and wizened sorcerers don’t yet exist, but they will. As the series begins, only Northem stands as a beacon of light and reason on a continent overrun by superstitious zealots. When a party of Northem knights discovers an ancient book of arcane knowledge, an expedition is sent to the ancient ruins of Dunkelgrau to learn its purpose. Will they be able to harness its secrets, or will the zealots learn them first and plunge the world into utter darkness?

I wrote my first novel, when I was thirteen. In pencil. It told a burly tale of America fighting off a Soviet invasion with the help of a group of teenagers (years before Red Dawn, I might add). It was every bit as bad as you’d expect it to be. But, it was a start.
Today, I’m deep into my dream job of writing novels. I’ve written historical fiction, thrillers, speculative/sci-fi, and humor. The market wants me to settle on a genre, but it’s a tough call. I like following a good story idea, no matter from whence it came or wherest it goes. My readers seem to like what I’ve written, and that’s all I care about.
Writer Viking: Words Without Mercy is my professional brand, something I hold dear after forty years as an advertising writer and producer. See my website and my Amazon author page (links are below.) If you enjoy your read, please jot a brief review on Amazon. If you hate your read, pen a scathing epic of my incompetence. I can take it.
