Make Me Exist: A Heart-Pounding Sci-Fi Romance by Brittany Ziegler

Valerie isn’t who she thinks she is. She isn’t even human. Hunted by an alien race, can she discover the truth before it’s too late?
Valerie’s daughter Charlotte is celebrating her sixth birthday and she’s loving it. Presents, games, and cake! For Valerie, it’s not that simple. Being with her ex-husband and his new wife is always a strain, but not as hard as finding out that you’re not who you think you are.

When a group of mysterious men unexpectedly show up at the party, suddenly Valerie’s whole life feels like a lie. Why do they look so familiar? Why do they act like they know her? Stranger yet, why do they have the same startling green eyes as Charlotte?

Catapulted into a world she doesn’t remember, Valerie needs to trust these strangers to help save her daughter and herself from a terrible fate. She and Charlotte are pure-bloods, the only chance for an alien race on the brink of extinction.

On the run and hunted, her enemies will not rest until they have them in their clutches. But as her memories return, can Valerie tap into the powers she didn’t even know she possessed and save their lives?

Make Me Exist is a heart-pounding sci-fi adventure, with just the right amount of romance, that will keep you riveted to your seat in a journey of mind twisting awakenings.

About Hope for Autism: The 262 Billion Dollar Solution: Improving Medical, Academic, and Behavioral Solutions by Jamie Juarez Melillo

A diagnosis of autism is the single most heart wrenching experience a family can go through. I can empathize with a colorful background as a marriage and family therapist, behavior analyst, teacher, and advocate desperately trying to help my own son Dominic, patients, and other students. I personally and professionally have spent two decades studying every medical, educational, and behavior solutions derived from neuroscience principles while I developed schools, clinics, and laws with the best of the best in the field. Many of us search for the solution to our feelings of desperation, helplessness, and outright frustration in a complicated system wrenched with many injustices. We want the best of the best for our children to heal them, improve their learning, and acquire friends.

Finders Keepers: A Jane Barnaby Adventure by J.J. DiBenedetto

FindersKeepersAbout Finders Keepers: A Jane Barnaby Adventure by J.J. DiBenedetto

It should have been a simple job. All archaeology student Jane Barnaby had to do was pick up a box her professor needed and deliver it to him at his dig site, along with his new car. Yes, his office was in Oxfordshire, and his dig site was in Spain, a trip of 1,400 miles across three countries and two bodies of water. Still, it should have been simple.

And it was, until Jane discovered she picked up the wrong box by mistake. Not the one with boring pottery samples, but instead the one with priceless ancient Egyptian artifacts. The one that a team of international art thieves is after.

Now she’s chasing – and being chased by – the thieves. And she’s picked up a pair of passengers who claim they can help her outwit them, get her professor’s pottery back and return the artifacts to their rightful owner. If only she could figure out which one of them is working with the thieves and which one she can trust in this high-stakes game of finders keepers.

Boxes For Beds by Maryann Miller

boxes for bedGenre: mystery, suspense, fiction, woman sleuth, historical

The 1960s were a time of peace and love in California, but not so in Hot Springs Arkansas where the mob still ruled. In Boxes For Beds, babies are being kidnapped, and the local sheriff has to put this case to bed before the bosses come down from Chicago for a big meeting. They don’t need the heat of an open investigation that could interest the Feds, and they have the leverage with the sheriff to make him do whatever they want. It seems like a good move to arrest Leslie Richards, the new woman in town, even though there is only thin circumstantial evidence against her. Better for it to be a stranger taking those babies and not one of their own. Leslie has left New York with her ten-year-old daughter, Mandy, hoping to escape from her past and the ruins of a relationship, only to discover that there is little peace for her in Pine Hollow, Arkansas.

Tips for Writing Your First Book

I believe everyone has one book in them. We all live different lives and no matter where you live you have picked up some wisdom for a “How To” book if that is your cup of tea.

If you live in the city some people want to know about city life and explore their minds and take a virtual trip. Same thing applies to people who live in the country, I know I am fascinated by small town life and practices of farmers and things.

Maybe you are a dreamer like me and can have a full story in your head when you wake up. That is just fine also. Here are some tips on getting that book on to the shelf and into the hands of readers.

Word Count and Story Length | Better Storytelling
Word Count & Story Length You’ve struggled with your story for weeks, created great characters, designed an intruguing plot and you’ve spent hours and hours working on a fantastic story. You send it off to an agent and promptly get a rejection letter. What happened? One of the main reasons that stories are rejected by literary agents is because the story is too long. Beginning writers usually create a story that’s just too long for a novel. But rejection letters rarely explain the reason the agent isn’t interested in representing your work. Writers usually forget to think about how long the story needs to be. After all, agents won’t bother trying to sell something that the publishers won’t buy. Most of the time, the manuscript is too long.
