Nightlord: Sunset by Garon Whited
Eric didn’t ask to be a vampire.
To be fair, there are lots of types of vampires–different species, if you like–and his particular type is called a “Nightlord.” But so what? Eric read all about various monsters, but he didn’t believe in any of them.
Then he meets a beautiful woman, wakes up with a hangover, and bites his tongue with his own fangs. That was pretty convincing. The bite, that is. She was more convincing, but until he bit his tongue, he wasn’t listening.
Eric clearly isn’t a typical vampire. He didn’t want to be one, and certainly not without reading the terms and conditions! At least his sense of humor seems up to the task of coping with his new circumstances–or he’s using it as a coping mechanism. Nobody’s sure just how sane an involuntary vampire can be.
So what does one do when shanghaied into being an undead? Is it better to laugh about it and get on with… uh… life? There’s a lot to learn, not the least of which is that these brand-new bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts can be difficult.
Upside: Eric has the beautiful Sasha to teach him the ropes, including the magic he’ll need to survive.
Downside: it turns out being a vampire is the least of his problems.
Not only are people trying to kill him, but he’s got a whole world of magic and monsters who either want something from him–immortality, power, a little of his blood, his entire head, or maybe some small piece of his heart.
Eric finds himself dragged into an epic battle at the literal edge of the world, as one dark power set against both Darkness and Light to keep a precarious world in balance.
“When you fall off the Edge of the World into hordes of demonic ‘Things from the Outer Darkness,’ you really start to wonder about your life choices.”
–Eric, part-time undead, expectant father, and involuntary astronaut.

Author Bio:
Garon Whited was supposedly born in either 1969 or 1970. The original birth certificate is suspiciously unavailable and other records do not agree.
He spent his early years as an alien resistance fighter in an alternate dimension. Since making his home here, he has held down a succession of odd jobs, including Karma Repairman, Ley Lineman, Chakra Crystal Balancer, Professional Knife Thrower, Hurried Crime Scene Cleanup Worker, and Amateur Cremationist. These profession choices were totally unrelated.
More recently, he has learned to communicate with relatively normal human beings in order to play role-playing games. He has also learned to use his power for not-evil. Definitely not evil.
He claims to live in Texarkana. People who have met him claim he doesn’t even live on this planet.
