Robert J. Emery writes fiction under the pen name R.J. Eastwood and non-fiction under his real name. Over his 4-decade film and television career, he wrote, produced, and directed seven feature motion pictures, multiple documentaries, and national television commercials. Highlights of his career include the award-winning TV programs, The Directors (90-one-hour episodes) for Starz/Encore), the mini-series, The Genocide Factor for PBS (hosted by actor Jon Voight), For God & Country: A Marine Sniper’s Story for MSNBC (hosted by Lester Holt), and the award-winning motion picture, Swimming Upstream, for the Lifetime Television Network.
Mr. Emery received over seventy-five industry awards, including seven years in a row at The New York Festivals, two Golden Eagles from The Chicago International Film & Television Festival, top honors at HoustonFest, and the Best Dramatic Feature Film Award for Swimming Upstream from the Los Angeles Angel City Film Festival. His first novel, The Autopsy of Planet Earth, received eight book awards, and his second novel, Midnight Black, seven awards. His new non-fiction book, America: Standing Strong, has won two.
