Love Sounds Like

About Love Sounds Like:

Love Sounds Like is a heartwarming, bedtime read-aloud featuring a playful and poetic conversation between a hearing mother and her deaf son. Before removing his cochlear implant processors one night, young Shepherd asks his mother what love sounds like. Together, they discover that love is much more than a sound – you can see, smell, taste, and touch it, too. Love is something we experience with all of our senses.

Author Bio:

Hannah Jessen Conway loves words – reading, writing, and, most recently, learning to sign them. With a background in Christian blogging and nonprofit marketing, her desire to publish inclusive children’s literature grew when her second son was born deaf. Her debut picture book, Love Sounds Like, is a rhyming children’s bedtime story that explores a heartfelt conversation between a hearing mother and her deaf son. Hannah lives in Raleigh, NC, with her husband, two precious sons, and a mischievous rescue mutt. She loves Jesus, college basketball (go Tar Heels!), and historical fiction.
