Author Bio:
Kellie Knight is an author and publisher from Compton, California. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Fresno State in Journalism and Mass Communications. She also graduated Cum Laude when she earned her Master of Science in Business Administration. She worked for more than 10 years in the freight forwarding industry but decided to pursue her passion for writing.
Kellie has spent the last 10 years helping to spread autism awareness and volunteering at several non-profit agencies that support families of children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as agencies that support teens and family unity. Her motivation to write her first book series about autism came from her son LJ, who was diagnosed with autism around 3 years old.
She is a ‘Write Girl’ mentor for at-risk teen girls and boys, a tech volunteer with Black Girls Code which is a nonprofit that teaches girls 7-17 coding and application development and a volunteer for the L.A. Food Bank, prepping items for food disbursement and serving the community. More of her interests include reading, cooking, watching The Raiders play football, (Win, Lose or Tie…), you know the rest. Her other favorite activities are kickboxing, shopping with her kids, traveling, cooking great food, touring wineries and going to awesome concerts with her 3 best friends. Most importantly, spending quality time with her family and their puppy dog, Iris is her favorite activity with wine tasting coming in at a close second. She participates in 5K runs/walks for worthy causes and loves teaching children to use their imagination to create their own stories.
Rolling Wheels Publishing was established in 2015 when Kellie Knight wrote her first book, “LJ the Little Knight: The Battle of Autism.” The 2nd book in the series, ” LJ the Little Knight vs. Billy the Bully,” was released in December 2017. She believes Bullying is never okay and hopes that this book teaches readers to show more kindness, be aware and do all they can to stop bullying. “LJ the Little Knight Time to Go, Go, go!” is the 3rd book which was released in 2019.
