Jigsaw Puzzle in a Vortex is a memoir in essays and poems depicting the life thus far
of Aurora M. Lewis, covering subjects such as family, friends, sexual harassment, rape, racism,
and physical and mental health. All these pieces were written between 2008 to 2022. In telling
her truth and sharing her stories, Aurora M. Lewis’s mission is in inspiring others, regardless of
race or gender (but particularly Black women), to know they are not alone as they struggle
through the complexities, tragedies, and joys of life.

Author Bio:
Aurora M. Lewis is a retiree having worked in the finance industry for 40 years, the last 35 in management. In her fifties, she received a Certificate in Creative Writing-General Studies, with Honors from UCLA. Over 200 of Aurora’s poems, short stories, and essays were published by notable journals and anthologies. She self-published her first book, Jazz Poems, Reflections on a Broken Heart in 2021, available in paperback and Kindle and was featured in an Authors Showcase held by her local library. Aurora appreciates all forms of music, particularly vintage Jazz and Blues, among her favorites are Miles Davis, Coltrane, Ron Carter, and Billie Holiday. She is also a movie enthusiast. Aurora is open about her mental health and suffers from bipolar, anxiety, and depression. With assistance from her physician, she no longer takes medication for these disorders as it stifled her writing which is her passion.
