Biography: Dr. René Vázquez del Valle
René Vázquez del Valle, DSW, MS, LCSW received his Masters of Science degree from Columbia University and his Doctorate at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School and University Center.
Dr. Vázquez del Valle has been an Adjunct Associate Professor at Long Island University, teaching “Clinical Practice”. He has served both as Clinical Director and Team Leader at the Baltic Street Clinic of South Beach Psychiatric Center, an outpatient ambulatory care clinic of the New York State Office of Mental Health. Over the course of thirty years at SBPC, Dr. Vázquez del Valle engaged in clinical treatment, policy analysis, research, program development/administration and advanced conceptual models for the treatment of Latino clients in mental health settings.
He also worked extensively with the LGBTQ population at the Queens LGBTQ Pride House as Director of Clinical Services.
Dr. Vazquez del Valle has been a clinical consultant and psychotherapist at the Queens County Neuropsychiatric Institute, the East Hampton Family Medicine clinic and a Supervisor for clinical practice at Latino Support, LCSW, PC.
He works as a private practice psychotherapist performing tele-health sessions via HIPPA compliant applications.
He has published a self-help book on the mental, emotional and sexual connections made in intimate relationships titled Head Heart Crotch Connections: How Not To Fail in Search of Your Perfect Union.
