Deborah Ford is a registered dietitian with a master degree in human nutrition and also a doctorate in clinical nutrition. She is a fitness professional and has trained as a traditional naturopath and has owned a health food store since 1976. Deb’s passion for health and healing came from her own poor health and avoiding a hysterectomy at age 22. She has a versatile, integrative practice that incorporates dietary recommendations, nutrition supplements, fitness, and lifestyle changes to enhance health.
She served as the 2010-11 Chair of Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine (DIFM), a dietetic practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Deb also Co-Chaired the writing of Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine that was published in the June 2011 Journal of the American Dietetic Association. She recently was been published in a peer reviewed journal in one of her areas of specialty, the elimination diet as it affects pain and inflammation.
