Fly Away Home

About Fly Away Home:

Is running away from your troubles the best path to a fresh start?

Claire Perkins struggles with her past, even as a thirty-eight-year-old woman. While attending her abusive mother’s funeral in the town where she grew up, Claire discovers a deeper emotional scar that challenges her definition of home. No longer willing to put on a façade, buried pain triggers Claire’s only logical choice: escape to a quiet place, somewhere far away from the risk of any further disappointment and heartache.

Pigeon Grove appears to be a sleepy southern locale in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. But there’s a unique and underlying charm to this small town that has other plans for those looking to slip into the silence of a solitary life. The close-knit community guides Claire along a different path, one that encourages her deep-seated need to connect with others. Can this small mountain town help Claire connect the dots to create a life she’s always imagined?

It’s never too late to come home.

Author Bio:
As a romantic fiction author, I write stories infused with a kaleidoscope of emotions that nurture the heart while exploring elements of the human condition. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to connect with readers through a shared emotional chord and the enchanted sentiments of a timeless love story.

Living in the Sunshine State, Disney—and Epcot in particular—is my happy place, a personal sanctuary that inspires me. While there, I’m connected to the aura surrounding me in a mystical and ethereal way. I am consumed by its magic.

It’s what I aim to do with my writing and stories. To inspire. To evoke a kaleidoscope of emotions. To connect.

Stories are like a cappuccino. Instead of providing a jolt of adrenaline to your physical system, they infuse you with something more. They are caffeine for the soul.

Some read stories to escape reality. I write them to navigate it. As the prelude to Epcot’s firework spectacular, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, eloquently states, there’s magic when we share our stories and bring them together as one. I invite you to join me on that lifelong adventure of discovery through the words of a shared emotional story and connection.
