Featured Interview With Roberet Tennant-Ralphs

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up on a small holding in the lovely Wye Valley in Wales, UK. After my education, I spent 40 years in London mostly as a business development adviser to the pharmaceutical industry. There I learned about the marketing of drugs and became an expert in this field. What happened at the same time was that I descended into alcoholism and drug addiction. In 1985 I quit all drugs and have stayed abstinent ever since.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Ten years after I stopped taking drugs, I began writing my memoire, ‘Surviving Addictions’, published in 2008 by Chipmunka. After its success, I continued to write until I moved to Morocco to help its drug addicts in 2016. There I discovered how this country’s issues with drugs had led some of its citizens into terrorism and organised crime. As they were responsible for the awful terrorist attacks in Barcelona, London, Brussels, Paris, Madrid, Marrakech, Casablanca, and in part, 9/11, I knew the world needed to know and the solution. In addition, they control organised crime in Holland and Belgium. Each book in The Global Drug Conundrum trilogy describes aspects of this.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite writers are Raymond Chandler and Scott Fitzgerald. My favourite genre was crime fiction, now it is books about nature, travel, geography, astronomy and spirituality. I am inspired by David Attenborough and Marianne Williamson, and the founders of 12-Step Recovery programs.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
To write Villains and Victims. The Drug, Terrorism and Organised Crime Conundrum I visited the sites of every major terrorist attack in Europe, Morocco and New York. I took photos and interviewed victims, met doctors and psychiatrists, drug addicts and their families. I also went to the Rif Mountains three times to talk to cannabis growers. NB Morocco is the biggest producer of hashish in the world, yet it is illegal there!

Featured Interview With Celina Thompson

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Texas, but moved out to Denver, Colorado a few years ago for medical reasons. I am a disabled author and my invisible illnesses make me a vampire—sunlight is painful, I can’t have garlic, and frequently need blood transfusions. I don’t have any pets, but I am in the process of getting a service dog to help me with my disabilities.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I think my fascination with book probably started around the second grade—when I’d read every single book for my level that the school library had. I’ve always journaled but didn’t venture into crafting a novel until 2015 after a falling out with a friend and a really bad breakup. I started writing my debut novel, Sanctuary, in 2018 when I was hospitalized with a blood clot in my brain.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love a good spicy romance book. I love reading Sherrilyn Kenyon, Emma Slate, and Louise Bay. I get inspired by life, especially my friends and family.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Sanctuary recently went #1 in Erotic Horror on Amazon. It started as a way for me to write through my medical trauma and grew into something so much more. It is about vampires who get blood transfusions and the struggles Sienna faces as she learns to cope with her own death and build relationships with her new found family.

Featured Interview With Julie Rogers

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My love for writing started in high school after I won a first-place award in a themed essay competition. Dad was always my encourager, to pursue a degree in journalism and to keep writing no matter what.

I enjoyed moving more than sitting at times, so I went for a BFA in Dance Performance and Journalism from Southern Methodist University instead, and completed two years’ post-graduate work at Stephen F. Austin State University. I wrote as a contributing editor for school papers, area newspapers, and a regional magazine called News of East Texas.

I currently work as a remote freelance ghostwriter and editor for julierogersbooks.com and Edioak (New York) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the setting of my seventh book, FALLING STARS. I live here with my husband, Jim, a primary care physician. We have three furry children–Madison, Kate, and Sukie–and two land snails who adopted us, Dewey and Decimal. Our son, Seth, works as a video game level designer in Austin, Texas.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I got tired of sending out SASE’s in my twenties and decided that indie publishing was my path, when indie publishing wasn’t really a thing just yet. My first book was hybrid-published when I was forty.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Where to start? Those authors I might emulate are ones who make me read between the lines. They can be all-consuming with their craft too. Some are from my formative years and many, quite old:

A.A. Milne, Lewis Carrol, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, Paulette Jiles, Jane Roberts, Earnest Hemingway, Karl Vonnegut, Thomas Harris, M. Scott Peck, Thomas Aquinas, the reformed Baptist preacher C. H. Spurgeon, John Grisham, Annie Dillard, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robert Greene, and Toni Morrison.

In FALLING STARS I didn’t set out to emulate any particular style, though. I did try to make readers think, to go behind the words and discover more than just the words themselves.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
In FALLING STARS, nine-year-old Tommy Lucas needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. But he’s convinced his disease is a curse on his bloodline, that he’s a vampire. His mother’s an oncologist, but Tommy believes only magic can cure him—or the same synthetic blood substitute developed for urban legend Viscount Claudius Fallon.

Tommy is stoked when he discovers a five-part series about Fallon in an online pulp fiction magazine called PHILLY’S ARGOSY. Descended from a ruling class of vampires in Cardiff, legend has it that Fallon traveled to Eureka Springs, Arkansas seeking a cure for his own leukemia during WWII.

Tommy’s quest leads him to befriend local artist and gallery owner Callan Masters, who struggles with his growing affection for Tommy’s mom, June—for he is Fallon, cured in 1939 at the Norman G. Baker Cure-for-Cancer Hospital.

Dedicated to living off-grid, Callan must decide whether he will take the risk involved in helping Tommy or falling in love with June. His bite is no longer capable of turning anyone—or so he thinks.

Featured Interview With Kimberly Burnstein

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi there! I’m a retired airline pilot for United Airlines. I was forced to retire early when I started experiencing recurrent vertigo (turns out that’s a pretty bad combination). But, I did get to see the world. I will miss layovers in Paris, London, Hawaii and many others.

Currently, I live in Las Vegas with my husband, two rescues dogs, and three horses. All of them spoiled. Las Vegas is a pretty good mix of my former homes. I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area and, previously, Fresno, California. When I talk about being from Fresno I usually add, “don’t be jealous.” If you’ve ever been there, you’ll know I’m kidding. Las Vegas has all the fine dining and shows you could ask for, but also boast great outdoor activities (when it’s not crazy hot), easy, free parking, and lots of small ‘mom and pop’ restaurants. It’s a great place to live.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was always an avid reader. As I kid, I absolutely loved Stephen King’s books. It wasn’t until my early twenties, when I started flying for a major airline, that I truly became a voracious reader. I would read at least three books a week. There was so much down time: on layovers, between flights, at the gym, and even on the flight when on break. I must admit that if you ask me about a book I’ve read, I’ll remember if I liked it or not, but likely not much else. There are just too many to remember!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m really drawn to women’s fiction. Give me a strong female lead and I’m sucked in. I love a good twist or revenge at the end (who doesn’t?). I also enjoy thrillers. I love a fast paced book that I can’t put down and accidentally stay up until 3am because I have to finish it.

There are many books that inspired my writing of The Katrina Witness. The flawed protagonists from Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Girl on the train. The lead that gets knocked down a million times but keeps going in The Alchemist. The Butterfly Garden gave me permission to go really dark. These are just a few examples of many.

I’m a huge fan of Alice Hoffman. I would say The Katrina Witness is sort of Alice Hoffman meets Colleen Hoover. It has little bit of both worlds as far as genres.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
This is thriller that crosses over into women’s fiction. It is set during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Clair and her dog are trapped on a roof while churning water continues to rise. They are “rescued” by two men with the perfect opportunity. It starts out very dark (trigger warnings galore) but ends bright. There are elements of revenge, romantic tension and a couple surprising twists toward the end.

I started this book nearly ten years ago. We had waited for my dog, Pepper, to cross over the rainbow bridge before going on our honeymoon in Spain. On the flight over, I read an article about Hurricane Sandy. The article mentioned that they had made a huge effort to save pets, because during Katrina they did not and there were people who refused to evacuate without their beloved animals. In one district, they supposedly shot a couple pets to get the residents to leave. I was horrified.

As I lay jet lagged in bed, the entire story came to me; almost like from a muse. I had never had any thought of writing, but I absolutely had to write this. I have written, and rewritten this novel probably about fifty times. It was worth the time and effort, it’s a thrilling story of survival, redemption, and revenge. I hope you love it.

Featured Interview With Dr. Paula Hidalgo-Sanchis

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a citizen of the world who has lived on four continents. I spent most of my career working with the United Nations as a humanitarian, and as a sustainable development practitioner. I led ground-breaking work on the ethical complexities, and potentials, of artificial intelligence. That work informs my debut novel Teaching Machines How to Cry. I hold a PhD in Human Geography and live in Portugal with my two sons.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Last year, my son Alan asked me (as he does every other night) “Mommy, tell me a story.” As I told him the story of a child pirate who navigated the Caribbean Sea, something clicked inside me – why not share my thoughts and beliefs about AI and ethics by telling a story about it? The day after, I woke up before my alarm clock, and I wrote the first paragraphs of Teaching Machines How to Cry.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have worked in the field of AI for the last eight years. I was responsible for managing the development, testing, and deployment of AI prototypes to advance the work of the United Nations and its partners to tackle issues such as poverty, climate change, and conflict around the world.

Every day I advocated for the ethical design and use of AI technology whether I was in the office or on the world stage and I wondered – where are we heading with the light-speed development of AI technologies? I wrote Teaching Machines how to Cry to present this question to the reader.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My first novel, Teaching Machines how to Cry, is an invitation to you to ponder the questions: Where are we heading with the development of AI technologies? And who decides what happens next? It is also an invitation to enjoy a book about the wonders of machine-learning, AI prototypes, humor, love, dreams, and inexplicable events.

Featured Author Craig Terlson

Featured Interview With Craig Terlson

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
As a true Canadian, I’ve moved around a lot, west and east, big cities like Toronto and little ones like Weyburn, Saskatchewan. I now live smack dab in the middle, in Winnipeg, a city of about 600k. Our house has always been full of pets, cats, dogs, and even a goat once. The current roster shows 2.5 cats (include a neighbour cat who thinks we are his owners.) Rumours have it that a dog may be joining us.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I was a voracious reader right from childhood. At the same time, I loved drawing and painting, which led to my career as a professional illustrator. After drawing pictures for magazines and books for more than 25 years, I decided that I’d finally start writing the stories that the pictures went with. I began seriously writing in the early 2000s.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read across the genres, from classics to modern, to post-modern and beyond. I’ve always been inspired by literary writers like Hemingway, Carver, and Alice Munro. As well I’m a fan of the South American writers like Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I count his 100 Years of Solitude as one of my all-time favourite books. More recently I’ve fallen in love with everything that Jennifer Egan writes, and her recent book, The Candy House, was my book of the year.

When I started writing crime fiction it was because of writers like James Crumley, John D. MacDonald and Elmore Leonard. Discovering authors like James Lee Burke showed me that I could combine my love of literary fiction with crime fiction and suspense.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, Three Minute Hero, features a guy who denies he’s a detective, but keeps getting hired to find people—and he’s very good at it. It is the third in the series featuring Luke Fischer, but all the books are standalones.

I worked on this book for just over two years, and then a bit more after I delivered it to my wonderful editor, Jim Thomsen.

A recent review really captures the spirit of the novel, “If you are a fan of crime novels with caustic humour and offbeat characters, this one is for you. There are fistfights, double crosses, and action—and it is funny as hell. There are shades of Crumley, Elmore Leonard, and vibes of a film like Blood Simple. Terlson also has a keen visual eye, and at times when you’re drifting through the landscape, you feel as if you’ve stepped into the hallucinogenic emptiness of an Edward Hopper painting.”

Featured Interview With Terrence King

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born an American Air Force brat, born bin Wiesbaden, Germany. We bounced all over the place, didn’t make roots until I moved to San Diego over 16 years ago. Our family has an amazing Bernedoodle who added a whole dimension of love and chaos into the household.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I didn’t like books until college, really. I couldn’t appreciate them. I honestly envy younger readers now, they are so far ahead of me when younger. Writing started in high school with poetry, and then on to student and independent films. Books are a whole new world. Looking back, I had quite the audacity to write the first one.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love SFF, of course, but I love reading work by writers with their own path. Cormac McCarthy had that and I loved him. Should say, I love his work still. John Kennedy Toole, too. Michael Crichton. But I loved work from Margaret Atwood and Stephen King to Hugh Howey, A.G. Riddle, Colson Whitehead, Lawrence Wright, Andy Weir, Marie Lu, Chuck Palahniuk, and most recently, Kotoro Isaka. Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere is one of my favorites behind Toole’s A Confederacy of Dunces. Critical Habitat, my latest novel, wouldn’t exist without Toole’s book.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Critical Habitat is a fantastical sci-fi action adventure. It bends sci-fi tropes, archetypes, and conventions, as well as those of The Hero’s Journey. Anyone who knows Star Wars well knows of The Man With a Thousand Faces and how those archetypes are cultural beyond genre. I enjoyed creating a world that created both spin and homage to The Hero’s Journey. I wrote it in respect and honor for the readers that understand.

It took me six years to write, rewrite, and publish Book 1, which is Critical Habitat itself. (It started as one book but became too sprawling and dense so I broke it out into three initial volumes.) I was picked up by a publisher before being dropped and faced more rejections from agents and publishers than I can count, honestly. Stubbornness and conviction kept me going.

Book 2 is currently in its fifth round of editing which, if anything like Book 1, will take a bit more honing to get where it needs to be. The third book is also in the works. It’s dystopian without being bleak and fun without being for kiddies. I’m thrilled to finally share Critical Habitat.

Featured Interview With Arthur Yavelberg

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My father was in the Air Force, so I was “raised” in a different place every two years. However, when he was stationed overseas, my mother–who is Mexican–and I would go to Philadelphia where her sisters had families. I now live in Tucson and, yes, I have a little chihuahua mix for a pet–“Frodo.”

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Books have been my companions for as long as I can remember. Part of that had to do with growing up as an only child and moving around so much. I always like to write, too. I would write essays, contribute to newspapers, and play at fiction. There always seemed to be something magical about language. Later I had the thought that it was possibly one of the reasons why, in the Bible, God creates the universe through the spoken word and why the Logos is so important in the New Testament.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Richard Bach’s “Illusions” hit quite a nerve with me several years ago. Come to think of it, in line with the book, I can’t believe it was an accident that it came my way. I always liked Leon Uris, too. He had such a way of creating lives out of the past that it was probably one of the influences that led me to teaching history. And then there were the biographies of Irving Stone. Through him people like Michelangelo and Sigmund Freud became personal friends of mine!

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“A Theology for the Rest of Us” is a compilation of the spiritual ideas I have explored over many years. While there are lots of spiritual writers these days, most of them are preaching some dogma–even about how to approach something as personal as mysticism–or else, rather ironically, dismiss the value of books and words as irrelevant to the pursuit of the divine. I believe in the power of rational thought and that there is much to be gained by exploring the answers presented in such sacred texts as the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Tao Teh Ching. Writers like Fyodor Dostoyevsky have examined many of these themes in extraordinary dramatic style. So, I have detailed much of what I’ve learned–what has resonated, what has not, and what questions I have. As opposed to preaching some dogma, I try to encourage readers to become spiritual seekers themelves–in line with the Buddha’s command to “Be ye lamps unto yourselves!” Similarly, people often overlook the fact that the 10 Commandments are addressed in the second person–suggesting that every individual has the obligation to “love the Lord YOUR God” with both the mind and the heart. One simply cannot approach the Divine on a personal basis by just parroting the words of others.

Featured Interview With Mark Cheverton

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in Southern California, fifteen minutes from Disneyland. I graduated college and started teaching high school physics. While teaching, I earned a Master’s Degree in physics. After getting married, we moved to the East Coast where I continued teaching high school physics. Now, I live in upstate New York and finally left public education, working as a physicist for General Electric. I have two cats, Olive, who insists on playing with my toes while I write, and Dory, who must lie on my desk directly in front of my keyboard. This usually requires me to pet her to make her go away . . . that strategy hasn’t worked out very well.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always been a reader; Saturdays were the best when I was a kid as my mom would take me to the library to return and get more books.
I started writing about fifteen years ago while working at General Electric. I’d go to work at 5 AM and write until about 9 AM, then start doing my physics thing. I’ve been writing nonstop since then. To date, I’ve had 26 books published with my first series, the Gameknight999 series, landing on the New York Times bestseller’s list for Middle-grade Series. My 24 Minecraft-inspired series of books have been published in 31 countries around the world, with over two million copies in print.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m a sci-fi geek. My favorite author is Frank Herbert, but it’s a close race with Arthur C. Clark and Isaac Asimov. Sometimes, I shift over to YA fantasy or MG fantasy, but I usually gravitate back to science fiction. These three authors are always an inspiration. Each of them uses words in different ways, and each offers examples of different strategies in storytelling that I try to incorporate into my own writing.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, Facing the Beast Within: the Anxiety of Cameron Poole, is a middle-grade fantasy novel. Cameron must come to terms with his anxiety as he tries to stop an invasion of mythical creatures from a parallel universe. I chose to focus on anxiety when my son told me, in detail, what it felt like when he struggled with his own anxiety, a battle we dealt with for many years. I decided to write a book and put the reader into the head of an anxious kid. While writing the book, I worked with a team of child psychologists, learning the anxiety coping strategies they teach their patients. I wove these strategies and my son’s anxiety symptoms throughout the story.
It’s my hope that Facing the Beast Within will make those struggling with anxiety feel not so alone. Maybe parents gain a better perspective into their kid’s internal battle, and hopefully, those without anxiety will gain a better understanding of what this terrible affliction is like, and maybe pick up some empathy for those who suffer.
So far, reviews are very positive. It’s won the MOM’S CHOICE GOLD AWARD and the 2023 INTERNATIONAL BOOK AWARD for CHILDREN’S FICTION. I’m excited to see it help kids confront their own beasts.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a Wife, Mother and Grandmother. As a homeschool mother and now a grandmother, I have always valued quality children’s books that present a healthy family life. Now I am writing such books herself.
Books that are family friendly, bright and attractive, truthful, encouraging and uplifting, interesting and engaging, cheerful, conservative, and not harmful to children’s innocent minds. Books that are able to be read and enjoyed by children and their parents, and grandparents.
My husband John and I have been married for over 30 years, and have four grown children, a son and three daughters, two sons in law, and four grandchildren.
You can contact me at evelynhairbooks@gmail.com

From the family of evelynhairbooks –

To Our Dear Parents, Grandparents and Carers.
We truly hope that you will spend time reading this book with your children and grandchildren,
interacting with them and building relationships that will last a lifetime.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As a mother, homeschool mum and grandmother, I have always been frustrated with the lack of quality of children’s books in libraries, schools, and generally on the market. I have spent many hours on my knees in second hand shops hoping to find that elusive book that met my requirements for a good book for my children and grandchildren. But, alas, they are rare and when you find one you don’t let it go!
That’s the reason I knew that I had to start to write such books to help increase the general amount of good books for kids in the world and in my home for my own children and grandchildren.

My requirements for a good book for kids is :
Able to be read and enjoyed by children and their parents.
Interesting and engaging – a favorite book.
The content conforms to God’s design, creation and reality. It does not lie.
Pleases God and meets His standards of morality.
Encouraging and uplifting.
Bright and attractive.
Durable (a hard one to control)

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My mother greatly influenced me. She was my Sunday School Teacher and mother to my 7 siblings. She is an avid reader, writer and poet.
The Bible is my inspiration for life, learning and writing. It puts life in the right perspective.

My dear children have influenced my choice of book style. What captures their attention, captures mine.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
I am learning a lot about self publishing and I am really cutting my teeth on this first book. I hope it will be a springboard for me as I publish many more books in the future. This book, however, will probably be the only one that I illustrate myself. =D

This first book is a true story about my family. I wrote it over 20 years ago when we lived in Central Australia working at the most remote roadhouse in Australia! As I had some time on my hands I illustrated the book myself. It is not until now that I have the opportunity to self publish it.
The book’s title is “ The BIG CHANGE – Emily moves to Outback Australia”. I have changed the names in the book, but basically it’s from the perspective of our youngest 5 year old daughter and how she perceived the BIG CHANGE of moving from a city suburb to remote Central Australia.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am an anonymous author.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My father used to write short stories and I recall him completing a manuscript for a longer book when I was around 4. I was writing 8 A4 sides by 5 years old and I decided around this time that I wanted to be a writer. In addition to story writing, I wrote poetry which was mainly about the injustices in the world, from a child’s perspective at the time. This brings together the project and aims for TRAPPED. It brings together my passion for writing with my need to reveal injustices and unfairness in society.

I regularly write within my field of work which, ironically, is not writing.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have read a lot of books in French, a favourite being Bonjour Tristesse by Sagon. I also got quite hooked on books by an author named Gounelle.

I read a lot of non-fiction books, relating to my field of work.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Finn West, psychologist in her late 30s, finds herself entrapped in danger. As she navigates her way through unfamiliar territory in her relationship with Mo, a story emerges showing the struggles of a parent striving to break free and protect herself and her child from a narcissistically abusive relationship.

Leaving Mo is when Finn starts receiving the strongest emotional blows. As she travels through the system and agencies in place to gain protection, Finn repeatedly finds that her experiences are not as they are meant to be.

TRAPPED aims to promote awareness, to educate, to comfort its readers. It is aimed not only at supporting victims of narcissistic abuse, but also educating professionals working to support this group. This could be anyone working within child services, the family courts, legal support roles, child contact centres and therapeutic roles.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Growing up, I loved Texas and the city of Houston. I had a very normal childhood. I played sports and graduated from high school. After high school, I attended Texas Tech University, where I majored in English Literature. College is where I learned about the form of writing and there are many different forms depending on what project you are working on.

I lived in Austin for about 14 years writing a few books and writing articles for The Sports Column. I have written over 300 articles and I’m the most widely read author on the column. I don’t have any pets as of now. However, I did grow up with a few dogs. If I had to have any pet it would be another dog. They get excited when you show up at the house. They’re happy to see you.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always had a fascination with storytelling, no matter what form. It could be books or movies. My favorite book is “I am Legend.” The author, Richard Matheson really wrote it well and did a great job putting you into the main character’s mind. The loneliness he felt and the need to survive. I think we can all relate to that.

I really hadn’t had any thought of writing when I was younger. I did really well in English class. My sophomore year of high school my English teacher came to me and said, “You are doing really well in this class. I think this is a talent and you should pursue this.” I was very nice about it and said thank you. However, I really didn’t get serious about it until college.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I like Richard Matheson, Chuck Palahniuk, and Stephen King. I like stories that keep you on the edge of your seat. I’m a big fan of “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk. The movie was great too. However, the book puts you into the head of the narrator and never lets up. It’s a real page turner.

What Inspires me? I think life in general inspires me. I can go out into the world and hear someone say something or talk about something and I’ll have an idea right there. Sometimes, I’ll let my mind wonder and think of a subject that might be interesting to put down on paper.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’ve written six books and all are available on Amazon. my latest book, “Honor Among Players” is set during the 1994 NBA Finals. The two teams that played were the Houston Rockets vs. The New York Knicks. It is set over the course of several days between game six and seven. The story revolves around a middle school basketball player who wins tickets to game 7. His journey within those days. The book deals with issues like bullying and friendships and how the city of Houston came together during that championship run.

When I came to Britain I advanced in my reading test and continued reading extensively and expanded my reading habits. I appreciated books and books are part and parcel of my world. While studying they were heated debates among students over the set books, they were severe arguments taking place and they were times where I had to defend the importance of literature for a developing world. Books continued to fascinate me and coming to Britain was an apogee in being fascinated by books. I began writing in 1991 and was inspired to write with all books.

Writers are creative creatures and offer a fundamental duty to the world of writing. I am inspired to write by all writers. All writers possess an inspiration and they are ambitiousness in their formations and craftiness.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a Texan! Born and raised in Dallas. I still live in the area. And yes, I have 3 gorgeous cats whom I love dearly. I’m a cat man.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always been fascinated with books. As a kid and as a teen, I basically devoured science fiction and fantasy novels. Like, I could begin and finish a book in a matter of hours. I was a total book-nerd. I have written off and on for most of my life, but never tried to get anything published. I just did it for me. Then I decided, why not? So I started writing about things that currently interest me.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Well, as I said I have always been a scifi and fantasy geek. So most of the authors and books on my “enjoyable reading” list are in those genres. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and some of the early greats like Isaac Asimov, Edgar Rice Burroughs, lots and lots. But right now, for me, I’m focusing on nonfiction and authors there that inspire me are people like Gary Vaynerchuk, Timothy Ferriss, Russell Brunson, and Peter Thiel.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Right now it’s exclusive to Amazon and it’s called “The ChatGPT Millionaire: Fast Wealth Creation So You Can Obliterate Your Debts, Retire Early, and Embark on a World Tour – Faster than You Ever Imagined!”

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in a suburb just outside of New Orleans, LA and I still live there. I have a miniature dachshund who thinks she’s human but that’s completely my fault!

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I liked to write from the moment I could hold a pencil. Writing was something that came naturally to me. I never had to think about what I was going to write, words just flow. Reading was a passion from a young age, probably about ten or so. I shouldn’t have, but I was obsessed with V. C. Andrews’ novels.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Anne Rice is a favorite, though I do like James Patterson, Amy Cross, Michael McConnelly, and others. My preference is horror but I’ll read pretty much anything.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest and only book is How I Became the Real-Life Nurse Jackie. It’s based on actual events and will probably be my only novel. I wrote it because I wanted to tell my story. People perceive others and judge, thinking they know someone by what they know of them or what they see. I’ve been misjudged, scapegoated, and victimized but it made me who I am today. I became the real-life Nurse Jackie but I’m not her anymore.

Featured Interview With Ruth Chisonari Emenike

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m Ruth Chisonari Emenike. I am 18 years old. I was raised in the country, Nigeria where I am from. As a growing child, I was always moving from state to state so I kinda grew up in a lot of places, haha. But I believe those experiences shaped me.
Currently, I still live with my family because I think I can say I’m a little girl.
No, I do not have pets for some reasons but I will, someday.
I’m a very creative person so you’re bound to see me writing, singing or diying.
I am also very lively and love to share fascinating ideas with people which usually sparks book ideas for me too!

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I realised my fascination with books at age 4 where I was introduced to fairytale picture books and also Bible storybooks. At 5, I was proudly a Babysitters Club fan, constantly reading the series. That opened me up to the world of books.
And then I started writing at 11. I was super creative mentally and wanted ways to let them out so I wouldn’t forget, so that led to me writing.
Initially, I also denied when people said I had it in me to be a writer but I look back and just shak my head, lol.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Wow, this is an interesting question .
I have a lot of authors I love to read. But if there’s Kiera Cass, Marissa Meyer and Karen McManus, I’m totally hooked.
My favourite genres are mystery and thriller, comedy, dystopia, Young adult and middle grade book. These are amazing genres that draw me in all the time.
As for my inspirations, that’s a whole new thing. God inspires me, Bible characters inspire me, my family are my inspiration too. And then people like Kiera Cass just makes the writing world so lovely. I get a whole lot of inspiration from a whole lot of people.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Thank you!
My latest book is titled The Detective Therapy, which is the first book in the Gabriella and The CLARGS series.
So, it follows the journey of Llorenian twins, Gabriella and Gabriel, on their move to stay with their uncle Luke in Emerald Ville after a horrible incident that caused some major issues to Gabriella mentally.
All Gabriella wants is to hide her gifts so she doesn’t repeat history all over again, so in her new school, she’s all reserved. That really doesn’t last, she builds a beautiful bond with some students.
After a mystery pops up at school and people find her secret, she and her friends decide to solve the mystery but in the process, their personal problems surface and solving a mystery serves as therapy too.
Writing this book took over a year, mainly because I procrastinated at some point(s) but I pledge it is a story worth reading because I embedded my personal experiences where I had to go through self-discovery, building self-esteem and finding myself.
It also exposes what most kids go through silently and this is my way speaking up for them too.
