Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
.I was born and grew up in Israel, where I live till these days. My subjects have emerged from the background of the problems and the people I met and dealt with during my work.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Since the beginning of elementary school I was fascinated by the written word. I read a lot of books throughout my childhood, my boyhood and manhood.

I started writing stories at the age of ten or so when I was a fifth grader. But after a short period I panicked from the excitement of my teachers and their high expectations from me to be a writer, and therefore I stopped writing completely for years.

Only when my children were in first grade I went back to write with a sense of thrust for children, youth and adults, and I also published several research books in the professional field of my specialization: learning disabilities and ADHD in children and adults.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
The list of my favorite writers is very long. It’s really hard for me to resist reading any book because I’m very open minded person.

The inspiration for my writing comes from my contacts with different societies, emotional suffer and human loneliness, as well as the cases that I encounter during my work. That brings me the inspiration for writing.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
The relevant book contains interviews with people suffering from learning disabilities and ADHD at different stages of their lives. It’s a glimpse to the students with learning disabilities internal world, their hard times during seeking for work and their dealings with the labor market. The book also deals with the problems they meet in their marriage and their parenting.

A special chapter deals with the connection between learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder and crime. The end of every chapter is dedicated to the rehabilitation training principles for the situations and the stages of life described in it.

The book was written over ten years, and it impacted dramatically on my work- theory and practical reference, for the treatment of people with learning disabilities, their families and teachers. Particularly in connection with the emotional aspect of their lives.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating high school, I went to St. Mary’s College near my hometown of Alameda, spent my junior year at the University of Madrid, travelled through Eastern Europe and transferred to U.C. Santa Barbara where I got my B.A. in Spanish. I received my Master’s degree in Education from Oregon State University and continued from there to work as a financial aid counselor at U.C. San Francisco. I lived in Santa Barbara for eight years then returned to the Bay Area where I met my husband and now have two children – 21 and 16, two chocolate labs and a terrier mix, along with my black Friesian horse who lives in the Oakland hills.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My mother enrolled me in the Book of the Month Club when I was eight years old. I’ve been an avid reader since then. I began writing in 2009 and have written five books. My first book, Moon Over Alcatraz, was published in 2012 and Taken Away came out on June 1, 2015. I got the inspiration for this novel from Amber Alerts which I find extremely distressing and I always wanted to write about how parents deal with a missing child. I wrote this book in the father’s point of view, from the moment he finds his wife and toddler missing, through his journey to discover what happened to them.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love any books written by Richard Paul Evans, Nicholas Sparks, Joy Fielding, Jodi Picoult, Debbie Macomber, Barbara Freethy, and Danielle Steele. My favorite genres are contemporary fiction, women’s fiction, and romance. The authors who inspire me the most are Joy Fielding and Barbara Freethy because their style is unique and if I was to read one of their books without their name on it, I would recognize them as the authors.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
I got the inspiration for this novel from Amber Alerts which I find extremely distressing and I always wanted to write about how parents deal with a missing child. I wrote this book in the father’s point of view, from the moment he finds his wife and toddler missing, through his journey to discover what happened to them.

AUTHOR-PHOTOFeatured Interview With Debra Barton

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I currently live in the Piney Woods of East Texas and a lot of my upbringing is rooted in deep southern traditions. Helping out neighbors anyway we can, family is the center of our universe, fried everything with a big helping of gravy on the side. Women call you “hun” and the men call you “darlin'” with no innuendo intended. Gentlemen still tip their hats and hold doors open for the ladies, “thank you”, “sir”, and “ma’am” are common courtesies that you still hear even from our children.

I have two amazing kids (my third child passed away when he was eleven). My daughter is the best mother in the world for her own daughter and my son is in the Army. For anyone who has a son or daughter in the military, you know the fear that strikes you when you get that call that they are being shipped to a foreign land to protect our great country. I didn’t sleep a wink for the nine months my son was in Afghanistan. God bless our soldiers and if you happen to know one or pass one on the street, please go out of your way to thank them for their service! They are all someone’s baby.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Being a writer has been a dream of mine for many years, dating back to high school. But life happens, and I put away my typewriter (back then) and spent time with my family, raising three children and then going back to work full-time.

Recently, I read a book that revived that yearning to get my ideas and passion down in book form and thus the journey to become a real, honest-to-goodness author began.

My passion is helping people and I like to write books that are motivational or inspirational in nature. It’s like giving everyone who reads my books a virtual group hug. A lot of people have helped me on the road to follow my passion and I have the desire to pay it forward.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My interests in reading cover a wide variety of genres as I believe it broadens your knowledge and helps you become a better writer no matter what genre you may write in. I used to devour true-crime books and mystery/thrillers. I love to be surprised.

I am inspired by other authors that may not be that well known. They struggle with their writing, but they pound the keys every day, they get their books out there and they keep writing. That is the true measure of a person’s tenacity that they keep going even when it’s difficult. It lets me know that it is possible for me to be successful in this business of writing if I just keep at it and work hard.

I am inspired by ordinary people who do extraordinary things. They push through difficulties instead of letting that be an excuse for holding back. This is what gives me my drive to keep moving forward.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book Dream Launch was inspired by a friend of mine. She has given up on herself and her life ever being any better than it is right now. I found, through my research of the book, that there are a lot of people out there that feel the same way. In some ways, so did I. They have hopes and dreams and aspirations, but they have come to the conclusion that they will never be able to attain them. Others have told them it’s impossible, they are met with negativity even from their friends and family, so they give up. My heart aches for them. I want to help them.

I wrote this book to motivate others to take that first step and to keep taking steps even when it is difficult. Don’t let others define you or take away your passion. Difficult steps are still steps in the right direction, moving forward. Don’t give up on your dreams!

This was not an easy book to write as I struggled with what voice I wanted to project. Do I write it from the standpoint of the caring mother or like a drill sergeant. Read the book and I’ll let you decide.

Featured Author Patrick G Moloney

smashwords-photoFeatured Interview With Patrick G Moloney

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised and live in the beautiful town of Killaloe, Co Clare, Ireland. Killaloe nestles amongst green hills on the banks of the majestic river Shannon just a mile down stream of the the mighty lough Derg, largest of the three lakes on the Shannon system. My childhood was spent fishing and swimming in the river and lake. Those childhood past times have instilled a life long love of rivers and lakes and I could never imagine not living by fresh water. I am married to Elizabeth for the last thirty two years. We have two sons Edward and Craig and a cat called babe who thinks she owns the house.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
The first book I ever remember reading was a dog eared hard backed copy of Grimm’s fairy tales. I suffered regular bouts of tonsillitis as a child so when I was laid up this book was my constant companion. The tales of witches and spells and enchanted forests carried me away to another dimension and I loved it. I started writing a number of years back and would write stories long hand in A4 pads. But it was only last year that I actually published my first novel ” Dark Web” I have published my second novel this year ” A Loss of Youth”. I have two projects on the go at the moment my third novel and a short story, both of these are in the horror genre.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am always on the look out for new and interesting authors lately I finished my first book by Bryan Smith called Depraved and I really liked it. He writes in the style of Edward Lee another author I admire. Among my long time favorites are John Connolly, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Clive Barker and Sven Hassel. The latter wrote a series of books on his experiences in the German army on the eastern front during world war 2. My favorite genre would Horror/Supernatural. What inspires me most to write is boredom, I tend to have an over active mind and boredom is a constant adversary .

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest novel called A Loss of Youth is I suppose what you could call a supernatural detective story. In this story I have attempted to explore the darkness that can dwell inside us all. It is a story of love lost, betrayal and the search for redemption. It takes us on a trip into the shadows where darker things exist. The protagonist of the book is a burned out former detective Joe “Spider” Bannion. A man who immersed himself in the evil streets until it corrupted his very soul. A man who betrayed all that he once held dear. He has rubbed shoulders with evil for so long it has tainted him and now every thing he touches turns to ashes. Joe has allowed his life to hurtle out of control in a downward spiral and the resulting crash will consume all those who loved him. In the end he exists in a twilight world between the living and the dead where his only companions are the ghosts of his past. Joe is now about to find out that what goes around comes around. The betrayer often becomes the betrayed and the road to redemption is a hard path to follow.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Well. I wasn’t raised anywhere, so to speak. Starting when I was about five or six, my family began moving a lot. Really.

Except for the house I’m living in right now, I’ve never lived in one place for more than two years. The one I’m in now we’ve been in for three years, and my parents say they don’t think we’ll be moving again, at least not until I’m out of the house.
What that means is, in ten years, I’ve lived in six houses. Yep.
Now, don’t get me wrong, living in FL, NY, and VA periodically is cool. But I’m glad I get to settle down a bit more this time in VA. It has all the seasons(Florida is basically summer year-round), but doesn’t snow from October to May(like New-York).

I do have three pets. My cute/annoying pup Ginger. She’s the cutest…and quite a pain at times, but she’s still a pup, and I love her to pieces. She’s this cute Pomeranian Yorkie-poo mix.
And two cats: my lovely fluffy grey princess Simone, and my sleek grey tabby Jasmine, who are sisters. Both have they’re quirks, but Jasmine is special because she has a smaller, second pupil in her right eye. Fascinating, I know.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Funny story. I actually hated reading when I was younger. Why? Because I couldn’t do it. I was born with a scar on my left eye, and hated reading because of it. When I was in pre-school/first grade, I had to wear a patch over my right eye to strengthen the weaker left one. If I hadn’t worn that patch(oh man, how I hated that patch) then I would have developed a useless eye, one that strays.
So because of that, I didn’t really like reading until I was maybe seven or eight.

In spite of my defected eye, I have been gifted with things that are astonishing for someone who’s eye is impaired. For one thing, I’m an artist, and I’m a pretty good one if I do say so myself. (I drew my book cover). You can find me on diviantart where I post other art @Jade SilentWhisper.
I discovered my passion for writing at nine, and by thirteen I had big dreams.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love to read a lot of genres. Mostly fantasy, but I’ve read sci-fi, action, war and military, thrillers, writing books, ect.
I love reading C.B. Stone, Christopher Paolini, and Erin Hunter.
Christopher inspires me the most, though. Only because I’m the same age he was when he began writing his first book, and mine’s published!

Tell us a little about your latest book?
The one that’s out is about a young orphan girl’s journey through betrayal and mistrust. She finds out about a rebel plot to start a war and kill the king, and must make the decision between going her own way, and warning someone. Her only problem? She can’t speak.

Let’s see… This book took me about a year and a half to write, re-write(oh, so many re-writes), proofread, find beta readers, edit, and publish. I could have taken shorter, but I wrote the WHOLE first draft longhand, which was a mistake…kind of.

I’m currently working on the second book in the series, and a shortstory that branches off my first book.

11Featured Interview With Carmela Ben-Nun Moshe

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in a small town surrounded by desert. I remember the desolate landscapes surrounding the house where I grew up. I watched the sunrises and sunsets against the backdrop of mountains from the balcony of my house every day. The silence of the vast expanses and the teeming life inside the wilderness fascinates me to this day. Today I live in a small village far from the desert, in a house surrounded by fruit trees and viewing fields. I am a mother of three children and exploring nature is part of what they love to do every day. In an area bordered by fields there are always rich worlds for plants and insects. In addition, we’re raising a family of chickens and a dog. The peaceful exterior allows the restlessness in the interior to bubble and arise out through writing.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My passion for reading began very early. I was a curious child who swallowed books from the library. During my childhood I wrote short poems, and part of them were published in newspapers in the sections of children and youth. I was fascinated with rhymes and from the ability to express a whole world through a song. When I grew up, I had two books of poetry published: “From the top crater”, inspired by the desert and – “Song of Life” deals with the beauty of nature, feelings and thoughts about life and death. The richness of the language and the ability to knead it and build sentences from it that refines events, situations and emotions are wonderful in my eyes. My most recent book “The Wonderful journey of Tara in an unknown land” is a fantasy book for youth and adults.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is Michael Ende. I love his book “The never-ending story”. I also love the books of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, mostly “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”. My favorite Genre is fantasy but I also read books which are rich in imagination and have insights to life, such as “The Fountainhead” of Ian Rand, and “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach

Tell us a little about your latest book?
The book “The Wonderful journey of Tara in an unknown land” depicts a journey of a young girl named Tara who wants to discover her roots and destiny. The girl spent her entire life in an iron island of that has an evil ruler and strict rules. She runs away from the island to find out who she really is and takes her friend, a small rabbit, with her. In a journey that surpasses all imagination, the girl meets wonderful creatures, such as an unhappy tree because of unrequited love, and a white unicorn who is flying toward a starry sky. She also meets wonderful creatures that are called “Mahopeians” who live in a place called “Mahopeia”, which sounds similar to “My hope”. The Mahopeians are helping people in all areas of life and are divided into groups, each one of them has a different color and function. Members of the Order family, for example, maintain order and harmony in Mahopeia, and are known to everyone as “Redions,” on account of their red capes. The Guardians family, who are in charge of security, are known as Blueions; and there are the Greenions, the Purpleions, the Crimsonions and many more. Tara learns how people are calling the Mahopeians for help, and discover to what group she belongs to, what is her color and job. Later on a love starting to blossom between her and a member of the green courage group. At one point, when the future of Mahopeia is in danger, and her best friend is kidnapped, she realizes that she can no longer sit quietly and decide to go out for a challenging journey back to the evil realms, and learn not only about her destiny in life but also about love.

The book was written during about five years. It grew slowly as a tree, each time bringing out another branch and a group of leaves. In the book I distilled all kinds of insights that I learned during my journey of life and wanted to pass them to my children in a way of a fantastic story. The combination of fantasy that has deeper and even philosophical layers is unique and appealing to me. I love writing for teens because I was there, too, often confused and searching for myself. The magic of imagination and the ability to find your strength to overcome challenges through stories helped me than and guiding me while I am writing today.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Ian Schrauth, and I am a eighteen-year-old boy. I currently live in St. Louis with my family and i am still a resident there. I am graduated High school, and i have Published threw books.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I realized that i was fascinated with books in the eight grade, and decided to write my own. Turned out VERY bad for a beginner. Misspelled words, written in Microsoft’s notepad, unable to tell if there was an error in it…Ugly.

It wasn’t until my junior year of High School that i had my first book Published, “Powers in a teenage witch” and it was a HUGE accomplishment for me! Everyone was just shocked that I had a book published, and it even got news to the Yearbook team! I had gotten interviewed, but the article didn’t make it.

It wasn’t until a year later in the same exact month that my romantic novella came out, “Vacillating brown and Black”. They weren’t that surprised about that happening. probably because i did it once.

And not long, i had published ANOTHER book called “Dangerously in love.” Not many people know about it.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
MY favorite authors to read are Hannah Hoffmeister, Stephine Meyer, D. L. Miles, L. Marie Adeline, and E L James (Don’t judge me, please). 1450101_847141709664_1750017745699391968_n1Featured Interview With Christian Green

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Christian Green. I was born in Bellwood, Illinois and I have lived in Aurora, Illinois since I was in high school. I had several pets when I was younger, but unfortunately, I don’t have any at the moment. I teach special education, and am a huge fan of all things fantasy related. I especially love Marvel comics, which prompted me to write two superhero novels. So far I have published three novels. The first one I published with little knowledge or understanding of how the writing business worked. I did so just to see if there was any interest in what I was writing, and to see if I had any talent in the field. I learned that there was an interest, that I had the talent, but there was a lot of room left for improvement! So everyday I am constantly reading and learning more about how to be a good writer and how to write stories that will truly engage an audience. Since that first novel, I have seen a strong improvement in my writing and I am truly enjoying watching the transformation take place.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
It wasn’t until my early twenties that I became fascinated with books. I remember in the summer I would spend a few hours each day reading some of my favorite novels. I always felt like the novels offered a much better experience than television and movies could offer. I started writing at a young age. I won young authors a few times growing up. The thing about young authors was that I wrote my stories about my friends. I wrote about things I understood and thoughts that I had. So in second grade when I wrote “My Buddy Bennie,” it was all about my relationship with my best friend in second grade. When I turned around and wrote “Four Brothers and a Sister,” in the fourth grade, it was all about my three best guy friends and my favorite girl at the time. So writing these stories had meaning for me, they were things I understood, and things I was passionate about. That’s how I continue to write nowadays. It wasn’t until the summer of 2012 that I actually wrote my first full novel, and it wasn’t until 2014 that I decided to write stories to be published.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Laurell K. Hamilton and Brian Keene are two of my favorite authors. I have read all of their stories and I hope to build a following like they have. My favorite genre to read is fantasy and suspense. Any story that allows me to really fantasize about is a story that I want to read. I want to get lost in a world that is different from reality. A world where heroes make a difference, a world where there is danger all around. I draw inspiration from everything around me. I create characters I believe the readers will find intriguing and can relate to. Some are serious, some are goof balls, and others are in between. It’s all about finding a balance. Sometimes I like to take characters and imagine them as the best possible version of me. The version that I can’t really be, but would be if I could. Sometimes I create characters that are the worst possible version of me, or a version of someone that isn’t bothered by society’s rules.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is called “The Blood in Their Veins.” First off I absolutely love that title. It originally was going to be called Bloodlines, but I thought that was boring and predictable, so I wanted to come up with something a bit more catchy. “The Blood in Their Veins,” is about triplets who happen to be vampire hunters. After learning of the death of their mother, they travel to New Orleans to pay their respects. While there, they quickly realize there is more to the small town of Bordon Point than meets the eye. Faced with numerous threats, the Fosters must navigate through a town full of deception and uncover some of the town’s deadliest secrets. The Blood in Their Veins has a diverse cast that will get even more diverse as the series continues. Speaking of series, this story is about 132 pages. It was originally suppose to be just a short story, that would set the tone for another character. However, after I completed the story, I realized, this was a series. This was something I could write for years and build on. So I went back and made some changes to the story and made sure it left the door open to continue.

imageFeatured Interview With Poppy Reid

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Scotland, and grew up all over the north of England. When I was eighteen I moved to York to study at university and at nineteen I studied in Tokyo, Japan. I now live in Nagano, Japan as an English teacher. I don’t have any pets yet, but I’d really like to get a puppy one day.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I always liked reading ever since I was a little kid. I remember my aunt buying me a massive Jacqueline Wilson collection and reading the lot in just a few days. I’ve been writing for almost as long – I remember hoping for rainy days at school so I could work on my alien story – I vaguely remember a kid’s little sister being abducted whilst buying ice cream and the characters building a spaceship to get her back.
I used to sit in my room for hours typing away and working on my fire princess books. We lost most of them last time we moved, though. At the time I thought they were great, but I’d probably cringe if I saw them now.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I like a lot of genres. My guilty pleasure is drama and romance – the old style ones where a woman is swept off her feet by a strong man and he does anything to make her his. Fantasy is great, too – one of my favourite series of all time is a paranormal horror called the Darren Shan saga. I like all kinds of genres – if the book has a good story it can grab my attention.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Blood of the Fallen was picked up by Quest Publications earlier this year. It’s a high fantasy with a touch of romance about an outcast soldier framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and an Elf survivor of genocide, who must put aside their hatred and rely on each other to survive amidst war and chaos. I started writing it when I was seventeen and finally finished it last year. I enjoyed writing it a lot, and I’m working on the sequel, Blood of the Innocent, right now.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I’ve enjoyed the campgrounds of Eastern Oregon during the summers and the snow covered hills of Mt. Hood in the winters. The beach is a favorite spot of mine anytime of year. I’ve been known to wear a parka at the Oregon Coast, just to be able to hear the ocean’s waves for a day trip!

While I have lived elsewhere, I’m currently residing in the Portland, Or metropolitan area, and am raising my two kids to enjoy the outdoors as much as I have. We enjoy hiking, swimming and camping together as often as we can. The kids aren’t as fond of the beach in the winters, but a summer trip is always fun!

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve been reading and writing as far back as I can remember. I don’t recall learning to read, although I do recall struggling with learning my alphabet. I kept wondering why I needed to know what order the letters went in if I already knew how to use them and the sounds they made! The first time I was paid to help someone else with their writing I was about 10 years old. An entrepreneurial family member had me write a letter to his client. I had a blast with it and have continued focusing on nonfiction throughout my career.

All growing up, I remember having contests with myself to see how many books I could read in a single weekend – Friday after school until Sunday bedtime. I think the most I read was 4. I loved The Babysitters Club and Nancy Drew the most. I still have all of my Nancy Drew books and my daughter has enjoyed them as well.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Today, I tend to read nonfiction mostly. I can often be found perusing business, marketing, and self-help, and spiritual books of various kinds from Jack Canfield to Deepok Chopra to Brene Brown and many more. When I read fiction it ranges from inspiriting works like Paulo Coehlo to quick-easy reads like the Twilight series. Having done so much editing and review for clients over the years, I can no longer read nonfiction without my internal editor taking notes. So, fiction has become my livingroom escape pod.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My most recent release is based on original research I did to earn my master’s degree. I wanted to find out how nonfiction authors can create powerful, long-lasting influence that changes readers’ lives. By comparing the top two most influential books published in the 20th century, I discover 10 secrets to influential authorship. I have developed these secrets into a framework that has allowed my clients to become award-winning, bestselling authors.

“Leverage: Authorship for the New Millennium” is the first book in the 3-part Influential Authorship series, and is available now on Amazon Kindle. Pars 2 and 3 are scheduled for release later this year. This book, focuses on what the author brings into the writing, and their ability to engage the reader at emotional levels in order to inspire action from the inside out.

It’s incredible to see my work – the years of academic research and then the year or more of rewriting it to make it reader-friendly – finally coming to light and being made available to the public!

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA where I currently reside. I have also lived in Chicago, IL and Atlanta, GA.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My mom worked at the library (the circulation department) when I was small. When I went to work with her I sat in the office and what do you think I did? I read books of course lol!

Kids tend to spend a lot of time outside. I was a bit of a tomboy. I did like to play softball, basketball and football. But I spent the majority of my time inside. I’m a southern girl who doesn’t like the heat, go figure. A lot of those hours were filled with reading books my mom got me from the library.

If you aren’t actually traveling, reading a book is the next best thing. You can find a book to take you wherever you want to go. I spent many days traveling everywhere!!

I’ve always loved to write in some shape or form. I wrote in my journal, if we had a test in school essay was my question of choice, and I always did well writing papers . If you combine my love of reading and writing it was a natural progression for me to write books.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Growing up my favorites authors were Francine Pascal V.C. Andrews, Judy Blume and Mary Higgins Clark as an adult Sidney Sheldon and James Patterson.

Sidney Sheldon has been the greatest influence. In my mind he is the ultimate story teller and I aspire to be the best one I can be.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’m writing the Growing Pains Series. The series will chronicle Kendra Foster’s journey from eighth grade through high school. It’s still open if I will go beyond that.

The first book Kendra’s Diaries centers around Kendra’s eighth grade year. Kendra has challenges at home, school, with her friends and of course a boy. The next book New Beginnings will be out late summer and picks up where Kendra’s Diaries leaves off.

The books as well as the series as a whole won’t just be about what happens in Kendra’s life. But it will illustrate and illuminate how she excels in the good and rises above the bad. As the saying goes it’s not what happens in our life that defines us but how we deal with it.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi! I’m Kellie and I’m a bibliophile! When I’m not reading or writing, I also love baking cupcakes, obsessively decorating and redecorating my house, and watching dancing shows on TV. I live in North Carolina with my wonderful hubby, 15 year old daughter, and two sweet kitties.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve had a lifelong love affair with books. I love the fantasy and romance of immersing myself in a great story, so it was inevitable that I take the next step and become a writer. I wrote my first novel 20 years ago, but I only recently starting writing seriously again. I had an idea for a book and I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I wrote it!

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I will read just about anything, but my favorite author has always been Dean Koontz. I’ve read just about everything he’s ever written, much of it multiple times. My favorite book is “Watchers.” I’m also a sucker for YA and anything paranormal. Yes, I admit, I did love the Twilight saga!

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Soulmate” is the story of Rachel, a 15 year old girl who shares her body with another soul, a boy she calls Rider. Rachel has been socially ostracized because of her devotion to her “imaginary friend,” but she gets a chance at a whole new life when her family moves to another state. The change is great for her; she meets a whole new group of interesting friends and starts a relationship with the hunkiest guy in school. It’s not so great for her relationship with her soulmate, though, and her choices eventually lead to their separation. If I tell anymore I’ll spoil the secrets, so if you want to find out what happens you’re going to have to read it!

The idea for “Soulmate” came to me in the middle of the night about a year ago, and I decided on a whim that I was going to write a book. What a wild ride it has been! I spent about 9 months worth of Saturday mornings write the book, then another 3 months trying to grab the interest of a publisher. When I decided to self-publish, it took another month to learn all the ins and outs of manuscript formatting and where and how to publish my book. I’m currently working on a sequel called “Soulsearch” and the writing is going faster this time so I hope to have it ready to publish this fall.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I married my high school sweetheart and we have five beautiful and talented children. I studied health education in college and use my education and motherhood experiences to create fun stories for children that encourage the development of healthy habits for a lifetime. I currently reside in a small Texas town were my family enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, boating, and taking care of our longhorns.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As an elementary student in Texas I participated in my school’s annual Young Authors Conference. Students were encouraged to write and illustrate a book to share with classmates. I looked forward to this day all year! It was always the last day of school and was accompanied with carnival type games and funny skits performed by teachers. I still have all the books I wrote. Thanks to this memorable activity I developed a love of books, both reading and writing them, and made a goal to someday be a published author.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
As a children’s author I must pay homage to Dr. Seuss. I mean, what would childhood even be like without this storytelling genius and his master rhymes? E.B. White. “Charlotte’s Web” was the first chapter book I read on my own and is still my favorite book. I made a point to read it with each of my kids. During my middle school years R.L. Stine kept my imagination alive. As an adult I enjoy a variety of authors and genres; though mystery and historical fiction are my favorites. “The Unexpected Guest” by Agatha Christie is hands down the best mystery tale every written.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book “Why Can’t Every Day Be Halloween?” is children’s picture book depicting a young boy who wishes is favorite holiday would never end. When his wish comes true he finds himself in a world of never ending fun and mountains of candy. He soon realizes that Halloween has more than just treats. It also has tricks, and they aren’t nearly as fun.
The idea for this book was inspired by children. Nightly routines at my house usually go something like this:
me – “Go brush your teeth.”
child (either of them take your pick) – “Why?”
me – “Because you need to keep your teeth healthy.”
child – “Why?”
me – “Because you don’t want cavities.”
child – “Why?”
You get the idea. The same conversation follows for taking a shower, going to bed on time, eating fruits and vegetables…the list goes on.
I figured I wasn’t the only mom with this problem and decided I could get my point across in a more fun and memorable way if I could show what really would happen if they neglected to care for themselves. My son’s obsession with zombies also played a part.

Author-pictureFeatured Interview With Adam McVeigh

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I live in the flatlands of South Lincolnshire, England, not far from where I was born in the neighbouring County of Cambridgeshire. I’ve spent many years as a community campaigner in both locations, but the majority of my time and interest is now invested as an author of paranormal and psychological thrillers.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Books are part of our history – always have been and always will be. Considering books are part of our lives from young children, through our school years and into adulthood, they’re pretty difficult to avoid. So I would say, for me, an interest in books developed in my very early years. Equally, I first started writing for enjoyment at an early age.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Thomas Harris would be a notable author who I both enjoy the work of and find a degree of inspiration from. The Hannibal series of books from BLACK SUNDAY, through sequels and prequels, certainly captured my attention and imagination. Psychological thrillers and horrors are in genres that I always have time for. In fact, depending on my mood, any genre but romance.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest release is a paranormal thriller: ZEPHANIAH. Its storyline revolves around a family’s struggle to use science as an explanation for paranormal events that plague them on their Christmas vacation in the fictional Cornish village of Gwennal, England. Let’s face it – we all do it. Whether it’s becoming amateur physics teachers to explain away the creaks of the floor boards upstairs as an expansion of the wood from a change in temperature, to insisting the figures in the corner of the room are simply shadows – it helps us escape from our fears. But, what happens when science actually proves those fears to be justified?

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Minnesota and Arizona when my mother suffered from arthritis. Currently I live in the Panhandle of Florida or LA, Lower Alabama LOL. I am a cat lover and I would like to think that my cats love me as well :o). I write Romantic Suspense with a little inspiration. Often my books include issues of military and terrorism.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I am a Naval Academy graduate and first began reading heavy during my Navy summer cruise 1972 which included time off the coast of Vietnam. I didn’t start writing until nearly twenty years later – it took me twelve years to finish my first book – which was awful. I’m on book six now with two published by Black Lyon Publishing, HOME BY CHRISTMAS & HOLD ME AGAIN. Presently I can get through a 55,000 to 65,000 word manuscript in about 9 – 12 months (nearly six months of that is editing and rewriting and of course cutting, cutting and cutting). There is no replacement of learning the craft correctly – either by formal course work or by educational books and writing courses. Romance Writers of America was a great resource for me.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy Iris Johansen. John Grisham, Tony Hillerman , Nora Roberts and many more. I typically read Romantic Suspense or Adventure though I do also read non-fiction. THE DEATH OF A PRESIDENT by William Manchester was one of my favorite books. I guess I would have to say the authors who inspired me most were Alister Maclean and Tony Hillerman – great stories and great characters. I always felt very entertained while reading their stories and drawn to the characters.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
HOLD ME AGAIN is a Romantic Suspense/Adventure set during a snow-storm in the Black Hills of South Dakota where a murder investigation is just the tip of the iceberg . . .

Emergency nurse and ex-Afghan war veteran, Tracy Aspen, becomes embroiled in a murder investigation, mountain-side gun battles, and a rekindled love affair with an old high school flame.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I have spent the last 20+ years working as a counseling professional, researcher, and college professor. I was born in the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas to be exact. As a child and teenager I lived in San Fransisco, New York, Miami, and of course St. Thomas. After graduating from Charlotte Amalie High School in St. Thomas I moved to Orlando, Florida to attend the University of Central Florida and subsequently moved to the Tampa Bay area where I currently reside.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As children my siblings and I had limited entertainment options and as such reading became our primary option. I quickly discovered that I enjoyed reading and felt a sense of accomplishment from each completed book. I initially read mostly non-fiction until the seventh grade when a friend introduced me to the Hardy Boys Mystery series which was the catalyst in developing my interest in fiction. I was fortunate to have friends who indulged my telling of “tall tales” in elementary school. However, my first attempt at putting these tall tales to paper came much later in the form of a short story while a sophomore in college.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I probably don’t have a favorite writer, however some of my favorite books are: Invisible Man, When the Wind Blows, The Coldest Winter Ever, The Catcher in the Rye, Milk in My Coffee, and The Long Walk to Freedom.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
“Love Won’t Let Me Wait” chronicles the relationship between a young business professional, his girlfriend, and the female who has been his best friend since childhood. It tells the story of what happens to these relationships when the lines between friendship, love, and trust are blurred; and dark secrets and intimate betrayals are revealed.

Chanan-GetraideFeatured Interview With Chanan Getraide

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I live with my family in Kibbutz Shiller in Israel, where I was born in 1945. I continued my parent’s legacy by staying at the same place as they do. They came to this Kibbutz in 1937 after a last-minute escape from Nazi Germany.
For many years I’ve been documenting the events and lifestyle of the Kibbutz while developing my artistic skills. My work has been focused on photography of the nature landscapes of Israel, industrial environment and the interaction of people with technology. I have presented my work in many galleries in Israel and the United States. I have also lectured on these subjects under the general title “You Create Your Image”. In 2000 I won first prize in the “International Competition for Nature and Landscape Photography” which was held in Israel that year. In 1997 I have authored a book titled “I’ll Take You There” which presents the nature landscapes of Israel. It has become one of the most popular photo books in Israel. Since 2002 I serve as a member of Bezalel Academy of Arts and design- board of trustees in Jerusalem.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
After many years of photography, I felt ready to capture my collection of photographs in a book and have all my ideas about photography follow the pictures. I have a lot to say about photography as a whole and photography in Israel, as well as expressing my thought of my personal photography.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
In addition to photography books of different artist, I find great interest in History and wars of the 20th century. Authors like Hans Fallada, Andrew Nagorski and Paullina Simons are my favorites, as well as classic authors like Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead)

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book “Israel, Photography Paths” summarizes all my art work of the last 3 decades. This album captures the Israeli landscapes, industrial environment, people in their work places, families in different life style, portraits and more. The chapters of text that follow the pictures, tells my thoughts about photography.
Usually people are attached to their environment. I believe that the way I look at natural, as well as agricultural landscape, is influenced by the kibbutz way of life. Where I was born and where I live, the open spaces and cultivated fields I see when I open my window, driving on dusty roads, the way the fields change their colors from season to season, the farming cycle and crop collection schedules. I evoke images from the distant past – manual cotton picking after school, picking potatoes and peanuts out of the earth – and wonder, how did all these images and experiences affect my artwork in the present? Did they somehow pave the way to how I would express myself and create in future years?

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a 42-year-old fantasy author from Denmark, who is married and have a teenage-daughter. We live out in the country, however not as far out as I actually would like to. I could easily imagine myself living in a little cottage in the woods with no close neighbors. The one thing that I would not like to live without is the internet.

I am kind of a nerdy fantasy person. I work fulltime in a Danish pharmaceutical company where I amongst other things work with IT-systems. I really like to structure processes and like the logic of databases and interfaces, but when I get home I switch on the fantasy gene within me, and start writing on my stories.

I love animals, preferable the ones with fur and four legs! I have two dogs, a longhaired German Shepherd and a Stabyhoun, and two cats. Soon we will get dog number three, a Labrador.

I love travelling around in the US. I have been there four times and have visit ten states.

My most desired dream is to get my books published in English. This would open up the possibility to share my stories with the entire world and especially with my friends in the US.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
As soon as I learned how to read, I were hooked. It was an amazing feeling to step into a new world and story. I was a regular guest at the public library for many years. As soon as I were old enough, I joined a book club and bought my own books. I actually still have the very two books that I bought.

During the teenage-age, I started to write short stories but rarely let others read them. When I were on maternity leave in 2001 (for nine months) I got the idea to write a story that was long enough to be considered as a novel and interesting enough that a publishing house would accept it. I succeeded in one of the two things. I manage to write a novel but it was never accepted.

I have rewritten this manuscript several times but with same disappointing results. Over the years, I had to get used to being a mom, pursue a career and still have time for friends and family. The result was that I did not work on my manuscript for almost ten years. I also think that some of it had to do with the fact that my manuscript was rejected. It hurt. It is a very personal thing to write a novel as you give a lot of yourself into the story … it felt like I was rejected personally.

In the end I enrolled for a writing course and thereafter I rewrote my manuscript (yet again). It was not accepted this time either, and at this point I gave up on this story … for now. Instead, I started to write on a new novel, and this was actually the start of Book of Shadows (my debut novel) which was released March 7, 2015. What I thought would be one book ended up as being the first part in a series ( Heir of the Demon Master). It took me fourteen years but the dream finally came true.

Now I am working on the next dream: To have my stories translated into English.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have many favorite authors, and it would not be possible to state them all here. However, the key words are paranormal romance and fantasy. Many things inspire my own writing: Nature, movies, books, dreams, places I visit, things I experience, strange things that friends and family say. Even though I roughly know what my story is about, I cannot write down a fixed overview of chapters and plot. Very often, I am sidetracked by something, which I then incorporate into the story.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Book of Shadows (Danish: Skyggernes Bog) is a YA fantasy/paranormal romance novel, and is the first part of the Heir of the Demon Master-series (Danish: Dæmonherskerens arving).

I wrote the rough manuscript for the entire series within a year. My family went through a rough time the last half year of 2013, illness in family and water damage, and when I needed to get away from it all, I wrote. Actually, I think that this is what kept me sane.

The book was released on March 7, 2015 by Tellerup Publishing (Danish publishing house) and is currently only in Danish – however I dream of the day when the story will be translated into English.

Here is the blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Ally moves into Larchwood boarding school. Near the school is an old, ramshackle church, where she coincidentally discovers a secret entrance in the wall that leads down to a room under the church. According to legends, it was used for practicing of dark magic back in the 19th century.

Larchwoods deceased Lady, Catherine Larchin, seeks out Ally and insists that she must find an old witchcraft book promising unlimited power.

However, a secret circle at the school also looks for the book, and Ally has a hard time figuring out who has good intentions … and who has evil ones.

Book of Shadows is the first volume in the HEIR OF THE DEMON MASTER trilogy– a series about paranormal abilities, love and difficult choices.
