Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Tonia Root, I am a proud mother of 2, and am happily married, I was raised in Battle Creek Michigan with my 2 sisters and our mother raised us. We grew up in a very loving and respectful home, I graduated high school and moved to Ft Myers Fl, and for the past 6 years I live in Tampa Fl. We have 2 horses, 4 big outside dogs, 2 cats, 3 birds, and 2 bearded dragons. I love our kids being able to experience the responsibility and love you feel around pets.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’m truly not a big reader, i’ve only really read a handful of books, I’m more of a movie kinda girl, I love a great action movie, My little boy was hit by a car at age 3, and it was extremely tragic, the prognosis the doctors gave me was that he would never walk, talk, or even know me, as he had a serious (TBI) tramatic brain injury, along with multipal broken bones, and internal injuries, The recovery, determination, and things he has over came and the things he is doing now was definately, I felt a story needing to be herd. Its very inspirational for any one going through a tuff time , and I told how I also found strength I never knew I had, Its a tragic story that truly ends beautifully. I just had to share it.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
The book wonder, and became a movie, was a wonderful story as well, my son and the way our family are together, are a very strong bond, what we have over came together, and the out come of the impossible that we made possible, is a inspiring story every one would love, thats what
inspired me to write our story.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Gage my beautiful boy, is the story about my 3 year old baby wanting to go to the store with his Aunt, being pulled in a wagon, he was hit by a drunk driver, and drug over 100 yards. The story tells what he has had to go through, witch is a big story in itself, but also how our family as a hole held it together and was there for him and help each other overcome the impossible. It is a tragic story, a true rollercoaster ride, but alot of truly happy things in it as well. I hope it inspires all that get a chance to read it.
