Featured Interview With Terri Greening
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born in Michigan and have lived here all my life. It’s a nice place to live and to vacation. Michigan has a lot of lakes, and I like to go to Lake Michigan on nice days.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve always loved to read. I remember going to the library in the summer as a child and signing up to read a certain number of books by the end of the summer for fun. Mostly though, I just read whatever books looked interesting. I started writing at a young age, too, but I usually wrote songs and short stories. In high school, I continued to write stories, and I majored in journalism in college.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy reading novels by Dan Brown, Danielle Steel, Amity Gaige, Barbara Josselsohn, Delia Owens, Karen Dionne, Hank Philippi Ryan, and Agatha Christie, among others. I’m especially inspired to write when I read suspenseful thrillers or mysteries and emotionally powerful novels.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The Lady of the Lighthouse is a historical thriller set in the Great Lakes region. Loralei Lancaster, a lonely, pregnant, young mother and lighthouse keeper is caught up in a WWII espionage plot with a mysterious Italian spy while waiting for shipping-captain husband to return home.
I came up with the idea for the novel after I read a history book about the Great Lakes and WWII and found out the Soo Locks was under military protection during the war.
