Featured Interview With Simply Shonda
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. I currently still live there with my almost 2 year old Xavier. We do not have any pets and I am going to keep it like that. I’m not really an animal person.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I dont remember a time when I didnt love to read. I love to see what kind of adventure reading would take me on. I started off with The Box Car Children and Baby Sitters Club. My love for reading grew. I started writing around the age of 10.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I have many favorites but I think my stand out favorite is Terri McMillion. She is an awesome storyteller. I think I have loved just about every thing she puts out. My favorites by her has to be Disappearing Acts, Mama, and A Day Late and a Dollar Short. I don’t have a favorite genre simply because i love to read everything.
I’m inspired every day moments. Some are good some are bad. It seems like i can find a story where ever i look.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is a Creative Flow company project called Literary Chick.
My story is about my life the good the bad and ugly. Some parts are true, some are false, while other just embellished. I wrote this story to show that just because you grew up in the projects, the hood, or ghetto you can be more than your surroundings. I wanted people to know that there are great people and stories in the heart of the hood.
I also have 3 other books on Amazon as well. No Love Just Love Making part 1 and 2 and also My Man Jamar written by myself and Coco Mixon.
