Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Because of my imagination and passion for creative projects, people always think I’m from one of the big cities. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts with a minor in Criminal Justice. My first love of art will always be music and songwriting. I’m also a recording artists, and I have released more than 5 projects. I’m working on a new album currently titled “Juno: Wife of Jupiter”.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started getting fascinated with books at the age of 10. Around that age, I was hit with major mental health issues and books were the things that helped me push through. I started writing when I was 13 and never stopped.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Sharon Creech, Judy Bloom, Jonathan Friesen, Sharon G. Flake, and Sandra Cisneros. I love reading books with a Bildungsroman format – consists of growth of a character throughout a period of time where change is vital.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is called Tall Scarves. It starts out with the main character, Quin Roads, getting the courage to brutally beat his father with an old golf club. His journey starts with a boiling point, but we soon learned it was partially planned due to the physical and psychological abuse him and his little sister, Michelle, endured for years. Once Michelle gets taken into the system and sent away, he goes on a journey to search for her, cleaning up the mess of his childhood and past as he goes along.
