Featured Interview With Roderick Millington
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in Birmingham, England, I have travelled extensively and have also lived in Italy, Spain and Greece. Today, I reside in Burton-on-Trent in central England. My passions (aside from writing) are diverse, but include classical music, theatre and discovering new wines. I have been a vegetarian for 38 years and animals and the environment are also extremely important to me.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I wrote my first book at the age of 13 – it was terrible! However, I pressed on and for most of my working life I have been a writer/editor, specializing in Middle Eastern business and education. I began to return to writing books in 2017 when I released ‘Pax’, an investigation into a possible past life on the island of Sicily. I have always loved reading and have far too many books – but they are going nowhere!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read mostly non-fiction, primarily classical music and spiritual books. However, my collection is fairly large and I also have many books on art, Shakespeare and travel. Occasionally, I do read fiction and enjoy writers such as Jack Kerouac, William S Burroughs, Stephen Vizinczey and Imre Kertesz.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
In ‘The Devil’s Playground: An Investigation into the Dark Side of Electronic Voice Phenomenon’, I introduce readers to the modern world of fallen angels, with the book’s unique strength lying in its selection of 21 sound clips. Readers are able to listen to genuine examples of demons threatening and cajoling, including the first-ever recording of the voice of Satan. This information is vital in an increasingly secular and materialistic world.
I am a journalist and have approached this whole subject with an open-minded, investigative attitude, and am only interested in the truth. And I will own up straight away to the fact that until recently I was one of the cynics who laughed at those who believe in the Devil. Then I heard his voice, and everything changed.
