Featured Interview With Richard Lowe
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in California and moved to Florida 2 years ago to pursue my dream of becoming a professional writer. I worked for 20 years for Trader Joe’s as their Director of Technical Services and Computer Operations, and before that I was VP of consulting for two different companies.
I have had several pets, including 3 cats and a Pomeranian. I’m writing a novel about my cat, Buttercup, from her point of view.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My grandmother left a box of books with us, and one of them was Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein. I was only 8 years old, but I struggled through it and fell in love with science fiction. Before long I had a library of thousands of books.
I started writing in elementary school, and continued with technical publications through my computer career. I quit my computer job to become a full time ghostwriter and professional writer in 2013.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love science fiction, and authors such as Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein and L R Hubbard are inspiring to me.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is “Help! I Lost My job” and it is intended to give people pointers about what they need to do and think about when they suddenly become unemployed. Over 33 years I was a high-level manager, I hired and fired, and I learned that many do not know what to do when they lose their jobs. What do they need to consider? What about health insurance? Dozens of questions such as these are answered.
