Featured Interview With Rev. Dr. Kevin T. Coughlin Ph.D.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born a raised in Connecticut. I’m living in the Poconos of Pennsylvania at the moment with my three dogs. I love dogs! I’m a licensed and Ordained Reverend and the Director of a ministry in PA. I enjoy teaching and being a student; I love to write, create, and help people. To me, the perfect day is hanging out with my dogs and a computer.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing about 19 years ago. A friend died at age 19 and I started writing poetry to cope with the pain and loss. I had about 300 poems published and a book of poetry in the UK. Then I started writing articles and nonfiction and I was off to the races.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I’m really busy, so I like anything that isn’t too long. I love Poe for short stories and poetry. I think Jim Carroll’s poetry I think he’s fantastic. S. Hall for short stories, and a little Brian Evenson to round me out. All the classics as well.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I just released two books a week apart both are on addiction recovery. The first one is a workbook on the 12-steps of recovery, and the second is about finding spirituality and living in it. There are 46 years of experience on the pages of these 2 books; life-saving information to anyone struggling with addiction. These books have already changed many individual’s lives at the ministry.
