Featured Interview With Racquel Ambersley
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hello, my name is Racquel Ambersley. I am the only girl among my three siblings. I am proud to be a Jamaican and a devoted Child of God. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, watching comedies, and simply relaxing.
For over 12 years, I have worked as an educator in a public high school on a full-time basis. However, I am now exploring part-time teaching, public speaking, real estate, and pursuing any other calling that God has placed in my heart. My ultimate goal is to positively impact lives and encourage everyone I meet to live their life for God and to also positively impact others they come across.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Before 2018, I did not have a great interest in reading books. I would only read occasionally. However, from 2018 to 2019, I found myself drawn to reading. This newfound interest stemmed from my desire to grow in my faith and deepen my understanding of what it truly means to live by faith. So, I started reading more and more books related to spirituality. Two books that had a significant impact on me were “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren and “Rebuilding the Foundation of Faith” by Pastor Dean Brown. The more I read, the more I learned and grew in my faith.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite authors are Rick Warren, Pastor Dean Brown, Crystal Daye, Sarah Jakes-Roberts, John Maxwell, and Robert Kiyosaki. I enjoy reading non-fiction books on spirituality as well as business. Pastor Dean Brown’s preaching about faith has greatly motivated me and inspired my writing.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The title of my book is “Changing Seasons: Transitioning from Fear to Faith”. It’s a powerful yet simple book intended to help women who are going through a changing season in their lives but are hesitant to move into their new season due to a lack of confidence and courage to venture into something new. The book provides scriptures, reflections, call-to-actions, and songs that readers can use to help them take incremental faith steps and ultimately become faith walkers, pursuing a new chapter and experience in their lives.
It explores different emotions and mindsets that a person will have to deal with and looks at topics such as building your faith muscles, stick-to-itiveness, dealing with feelings of uncertainty, and thinking differently to live differently.
After reading this book, women will have the confidence and faith to pursue new career paths and gain greater clarity on what God is calling them to do. They will also be better able to walk by faith and not by sight in their daily journey.
