Featured Interview With Rachael Hohf
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I grew up in the Midwest, and after more than a decade in Colorado, returned to my midwestern roots.
I have two feisty Catahoula Leopard Dogs, who love to scare squirrels in our backyard.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I've loved books ever since I was too young to read them! I loved looking at the pictures, flipping through the pages, and imagining what was happening. My love of books grew by leaps & bounds when I learned to read.
I started writing at an early age. My first original work was a song I wrote in grade school about ants in glass ant farms. (You had to be there.)
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love reading Agatha Christie, classic sci fi authors like Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, and John Christopher, and Jane Austen, to name a few.
Mysteries might be may favorite genre, but I enjoy sci fi a lot, too!
My inspirations are Agatha Christie, Betty Wren Wright, Mary Downing Hahn.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My newest book is called "What Happened to Jade?" It's a mystery with maybe (?) a supernatural twist or two. (No spoilers!)
When Jade goes missing, and then her best friend also disappears, their roommate Kayla is accused of the crimes. Oddly, several formerly missing people turn up on the same day the two women disappear, and one of the "returned" has a strange story to tell about her time away. Are the incidents related, or just an eerie coincidence? The local detectives are in over their heads, and time is running out.
This book came together pretty quickly, and I had to force myself to stop writing some days! It was a blast to write and I hope everyone enjoys reading it just as much.
