Featured Interview With Prithiv Chandar
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Prithiv here, I live in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu with my family. Before I began writing, I experimented with various occupations: mechanical supervisor, computer networking, human resources… In any case, my most loved occupation is the one I’m currently doing full time – writing books. I also front a local death metal band.
I do not have any pets as of now, but would to adopt a dog in the near future.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have been into reading short stories since my childhood and I used to be an avid reader of books from Scholastic during my school days. I started writing not very long ago, just a year back and here I am now.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors are Stephen King, James Herbert, John Saul and many more. The genre I love to read is horror and it has been that way since a very long time. I mostly read short stories, that’s my thing.
For most of my writing, I’ve no fixed idea about who I’m going to meet or what’s going to happen. This ‘technique’, as it’s laughingly called, pretty much relies on making the empty page. I find that when I have no idea what I’m going to write sitting down and writing anyway jump-starts my imagination.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
‘Manhattan Courtship’ is a Fictional Romance novel on two supreme strangers who meet each other in Manhattan. The book takes the readers through the life of the Protagonist, his dreadful past and the need for him to toss himself in a conventional position just to ensure his love life falls in the opportune place.
