Featured Interview With PIOUS ENWEREONU

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in the serene and culturally rich community of Umuojere Mgbala Agwa in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. My upbringing in this rural setting shaped my early worldview and nurtured in me a strong sense of purpose, curiosity, and reflection. Today, I live in Enugu State, Nigeria, where I continue my work as a Minister of God, Author, Speaker, Detective, Digital Safety Advocate, and Mental Health Educator. Although I don’t keep pets, I maintain a deep appreciation for nature and value simplicity, balance, and focus in my lifestyle.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My fascination with books began quite early—at the age of 7. I found comfort, meaning, and adventure in reading. By the time I was 15, I had already started writing seriously. My very first manuscript was about AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), a topic I felt deeply passionate about, even as a teenager.

While still living in the village and attending junior secondary school, I entrusted the manuscript to a local mentor who promised to show it to a publisher in Lagos. About a year later, when he returned, I eagerly asked about my book. He told me that the publisher said I needed to seek permission from those whose works I had referenced. He then encouraged me to go to university first.

Years passed. After becoming a public servant, I casually asked an uncle about that same mentor. He told me that there was a time the man returned to the village with foreign visitors, conducting HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. That revelation struck me—I realized then that he had used my original ideas without giving me credit. It was a painful but defining moment that taught me the value of intellectual property and the importance of integrity.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors include Tony Robbins, whose works Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within profoundly influenced my mindset. Joe Dispenza’s You Are the Placebo expanded my understanding of neuroplasticity and mental healing. I’ve also been inspired by Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich), Robert Greene (The 48 Laws of Power), Brian Tracy (Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life), MJ DeMarco, Daniel Goleman (Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence), Ben Carson, and Claude Bristol.

Above all, the Bible remains my most influential book—its wisdom has shaped my thinking, character, and purpose. I also hold Mankind’s Search for God by Jehovah’s Witnesses in high regard for its insightful spiritual perspective.

I enjoy reading non-fiction—especially books in the genres of self-help, mental health, psychology, personal development, intelligence, and spirituality. These genres reflect my calling and personal mission as a Minister of God, an Intelligence and Mental Health Advocate, and a lifelong learner.

My inspiration to write stems from a combination of my lived experiences, my service in law enforcement, my research in neurocognition, and my deep yearning to impact others intellectually and spiritually. I write not just to inform, but to transform lives.

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is titled The Law of Integrative Intelligence: Unlocking Human Potential Through Synthesis. The inspiration for this work came from observing a growing curiosity online about the concept of “Integrative Intelligence.” That spark led me to synthesize insights from neuroscience, cognitive flexibility, personal experience, and spiritual understanding to develop a practical framework that individuals can apply to unlock their potential.

In this book, I explore how integrative intelligence involves combining seemingly unrelated domains of knowledge to generate transformative insights and take adaptive actions. It reflects not just my intellectual interests, but also my calling as a mental health advocate, investigator, and minister. The goal of the book is to empower people to think more holistically, live more purposefully, and act more intelligently in the face of life’s complexities.
