Featured Interview With Pedro Okoro
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I moved from Nigeria to the United Kingdom in 1996. I started a law firm in 2001 and was named the ACAS Employer of the Year (UK Trade & Investment/Black Enterprise Awards) in 2004. I am the lead Pastor of New Covenant Church, Wallington, Surrey in the United Kingdom, near where I live with my wife and our two gorgeous daughters.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always been fascinated by books, and writing. Its not therefore surprising that I became an acclaimed writer from an early age. In 1983 when I was a teenager, I won the first prize in the National Essay Competition organized by Mobil Oil Nigeria, in NIgeria. The following year, 1984, I won the first prize in an international essay contest organised by the United Nations Radio, New York.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite authors include TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen. My favorite genre is non fiction. I draw my inspiration from my my faith in Jesus.
