Featured Interview With P.S. Winn
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Born and raised in Montana, I lived in Utah for 25 years before coming home. I have 7 children and 18 grandchildren. I call some of them inherited because I was lucky enough to get a few of them when I got married. I have also lived in Idaho and Wyoming along the way. I love small towns and beautiful scenery. I also love old ghost towns and abandoned places and find then inspirations for my stories.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I always wrote short stories and poems even as a small child. i think because I always read. You could always find me with a book in my hand, Two years ago I began writing novels. Now with the 17th getting ready for release you can find me with a notebook and pen in my hand at all times. I write the books longhand before typing them, not my favorite task. When I put the pen to paper the stories seem to unfold magically and the characters take over, possessing my pen and my mind until the story is done, then we start over. I not only am a writer (17) but a reader (2000 +) on Good reads and a reviewer (450 and counting) on Amazon. I really love books!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love Stephen King and Dean Koontz and feel I am a mix somewhere in between, maybe throw in a little V.C. Andrews. Through my own adventure of being an indie author I have discovered so many new talented writers I would need a novel to list them all. I think it is the author and the reader together who make a book come to life and I have been so blessed to receive all great reviews on my books. That is the reader’s imaginations responsible for that and I thank them.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My book “Lies in Shadows” is a look into the life and mind of Lucretia. She was almost a prisoner in her home, kept there by well meaning but misguided parents. When Lucretia’s mama dies her spirit is back. Lucretia isn’t sure why but thinks it has something to do with a memory block she has had for years. In trying to unblock the memory the mystery unfolds and Lucretia slowly unravels the shadows hiding in her memory and the lies behind them.
I also have a book “Phases” that will be out in about a week. George has a secret and when his wife dies unexpectedly, George has to get his friend Jake to help him keep the secret safe. “Phases” is a supernatural, suspense thriller that tells the story behind the story and takes readers on an adventurous ride.
