Featured Interview With Nancy Roe
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I’m a Midwest farm girl at heart, currently living in Memphis, Tennessee. Will be building my dream home in the spring of 2020. My favorite animals are flamingos (have a tattoo on my ankle), giraffes, and owls. I love playing bridge, crocheting, knitting, cooking, making lists, and organizing.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
In my sixth-grade autobiography, I wrote I wanted to be an author. I finally self-published my first book at fifty. I’ve always loved reading mystery novels, and in January 2020 published my fourth mystery. Dreams do come true!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I don’t necessarily have favorite writers. I love to read mysteries, but read a variety of genres in my book club. It’s good to expand your horizons and read something you wouldn’t normally read.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
The Accident started with the main character, Darnell Dixon. The small town is loosely based the town of Galena, Illinois. I love visiting the town for its shopping and food. I have a fondness for secrets in the lives of my protagonists that come to light when the initial incident happens. Two of my bridge-playing friends wanted their names in the book, so I made them twins. I’ll be interested to hear how they liked their characters.
