Featured Interview With Maggie Oakes
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hi, I’m Maggie 🙂
I’m a nerdy young woman with a positive attitude towards life. I thrive on helping other people. I have suffered years from anxiety and panic attacks, and thus have started writing self-helps books to help people who have the same problems that I used to have.
I was raised in a good family with good values. We have been living in a city for all my life, but now we also have a country home and I feel that my heart yearns for the countryside. I don’t currently have any pets, but am thinking of loaning some chickens for the summer
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I used to read a lot as a youngster (the Hobbit was my favorite), but then developed other hobbies in my teens (making short movies). Now I am back to reading and enjoying books. I first seriously started writing in August 2017.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My current favorite authors are Umberto Eco and Tolkien. Tolkien has swept me away with his fantasy worlds and intricate research. My favorite genre is fantasy, mystery and psychological thrillers. If you have any recommendations, do let me know 😉
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is named – Your Journey to Calm: A Guide to Leaving Anxiety and Panic Attacks Behind.
I was inspired to write it by my own years of struggles with both anxiety and panic attacks. Now I am a medical doctor and have helped out many others with their anxieties. So I feel that I have many useful tips to share.
