Featured Interview With Luna Everleaf

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Luna Everleaf, and I’ve always had a deep love for storytelling and imagination. I was raised in a peaceful town surrounded by nature, which inspired many of the magical elements in my writing. I currently live in a quiet city where I continue to write and create stories for young readers.

I don’t have any pets at the moment, but I absolutely adore animals—especially foxes, birds, and cats. They often appear as characters in my stories and bring a touch of wonder and warmth to my books.

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I discovered my love for books at a very young age. As a child, I was always drawn to beautifully illustrated storybooks and magical tales that transported me to other worlds. That early fascination quickly turned into a lifelong passion for reading.

I started writing stories in my teenage years, often creating short fantasy adventures and picture book-style tales just for fun. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to pursue writing seriously and publish my first children’s book, The Fox Who Painted the Sky. It’s been a dream come true to bring my imagination to life for young readers.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Some of my favorite authors include Dr. Seuss, Beatrix Potter, and Shel Silverstein—their ability to craft imaginative worlds with heart and humor has always captivated me. I also enjoy reading modern children’s authors like Oliver Jeffers and Mo Willems, who bring creativity and simplicity together beautifully.

My favorite genre to read is children’s fantasy and picture books. I love stories that spark curiosity, encourage kindness, and leave readers with a sense of wonder.

I find inspiration in nature, art, and the innocence of childhood. The magic in everyday life and the way children see the world motivates me to write stories that are both whimsical and meaningful

Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, The Fox Who Painted the Sky, is a heartwarming children’s story about a curious little fox who dreams of painting the sky with colors no one has ever seen. Through his magical journey across forests, rivers, and mountaintops, he discovers the beauty of creativity, friendship, and believing in yourself. It’s a tale that inspires young readers to embrace their imagination and see the world through a colorful lens.
