Featured Interview With Lucas Kinkaid
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My father was in the military when I was born. I was born in Germany on an Air Force base. I now live in western Pennsylvania with my wife. We enjoy outdoor activities such as biking and hiking. We don’t have any pets, but we do have many creatures from the woods around our home that come to visit.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was younger, I like sports. The first book I remember reading several times was “The Babe Ruth” story. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I started writing in High School. I wrote about things going on in my life and kept it hidden. In high school, I was on the newspaper staff and I’ve been writing ever since.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I really enjoy anything written by John Steinbeck. I like reading fiction but also fantasy. The biggest inspiration I have with my writing is stories that come alive in my mind, and I feel compelled to write them down.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book “My Canvas Bag” is about a young man born into a bad situation. He struggles with his dysfunctional homelife. He makes some bad decisions and then has to decided what path he will take in life. Trying to go down a path away from crime is difficult but is worth it. He discovers his ability to write and discovers himelf.
