Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a retired Early Childhood Educator. I was the licensee (owner/operator) for a large preschool in New Zealand for about 14 years. I was raised in Cresent Beach BC. Then Moved to NZ with my new husband in my early twenties and
lived there for 36 years til I headed back home 7 years ago (without husband). I don’t have any pets…but I do have a partner 😂
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
In Elementary school I developed a love of reading. As an ECE teacher I learned to put the learning of the children into story form. I loved to write about what I saw the children learn through play and their friends. I would use photos and pictures to illustrate. I started to seriously write 5 years ago. It took another couple of years to pluck up the courage to investigate the possibly of publishing my stories and the rest is history…
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am not sure I have a favorite author. I like: Ellen Degeneres, Jordan B. Peterson, Allen W Watts, Alessandra Woodward, Deborah Crombes, Christiane Northrup, MD., Patricia Maclachlan, J.R.R. Tolkien… I love them all. My inspiration comes from the world, nature and the people around me. Aspecially watching the wildlife and my grandchildren playing.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My first book is:
Squeak The Little Grey Squirrel. This book is about my grandchildren from NZ visiting their Great Gramma in White Rock BC. They meet a little Squirrel named Squeak. There are no squirrels in New Zealand. So you can imagine the excitement…
My second book is:
Squeak Meets New Friends. Fresh off the press…again my grandchildren find a baby Squirrel that fell out of its nest up the tall tree beside Great Grammas porch and Great Gramma know exactly what to do….
