Featured Interview With Lindsay Coldrick
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hey, I’m Lindsay Banks, my book is under my old married name. I have 2 children and live just outside of York in a beautiful village. I love writing and sharing my own spiritual journey with others. As a Geordie my accent can sometimes be quite strong. I don’t have any pets currently but my children and my work keep me busy!
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started reading from an early age and was often absorbed in books. One of the first books I remember reading was the Diary of Anne Frank when I was 12 and I would often pinch books from my Grandmas bookcase and would love getting lost in books. I have always kept a diary from being a little girl and only started writing my book in April 2018. By Sep 2018 it was finished.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I enjoy reading spiritual books as well as business books. One of my favourite is Think Rich, Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. His understanding of the law of attraction is amazing! I often have 6 or 7 books on the go at once and like dipping in and out of them. Paolo Coelho is another favourite as is Alberto Villoldo. You can learn so much in theory from others who have gone through their own spiritual journey but it is only when we go through stuff ourselves can we apply the theory.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
A Gentle Hug for the Soul is a quick and simple read. My dad has no idea about the spiritual world but could understand the concepts I was talking about. I write as I speak, in plain english, unless I am channelling and get given bigger words lol! It contains some basic concepts to help us live stress free. Tools such as mindfulness, gratitude and your spiritual army all feature. It contains my own story as well as practical tips for you. It was written following the loss of my best friend to cancer then a difficult separation period. I later realised I had gone through my own Dark Night of the Soul.
