Featured Interview With L.A. Immanuel

Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Hey, I am L.A. Immanuel. I was raised in places across the length and breadth of India. I love reading, writing and researching stuff, like basic neuroscience (finding ways to making inception a reality, that is (: )

I took up writing seriously because I feel compelled, in a way. I think writing’s my way of expressing myself and entertaining people in the process, whose praise becomes your daily bread. It’s kind of a sexy romantic notion, thinking of myself as an artist, this way and I absolutely love it!

At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I always had loved creating new worlds for myself as a kid while playing and absolutely loved the time, I spent reading huddled up in a corner of my bed, along with something sweet to eat, set upon my tummy and yes, I was also part of the Harry Potter generation and grew up with Harry Potter and his magical world, which deeply affected in every way.

I started writing soon after reading my first Harry Potter book, the Goblet of fire. I, first wrote about a boy called Racifiwald and a villainous black-tongued king, Scherath. The writing was very childish but at that time, I was very proud of what I had written. Since then, I had always wanted to write seriously but never found the real motivation till now.

Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Arthur Conan Doyle and J.K. Rowling.

Thank the Lord for Sherlock Holmes! I had the best times reading this great work and Harry Potter too!

Tell us a little about your latest book?
Well, my latest book, Troy Zander and the Sign of the Unseen is a young adult novel set fifty thousand years from now. Below is the book blurb,

In the not so distant future, when the earth is wasted and unable to sustain the human population, astronaut teams are selected to colonize seventeen potentially habitable planets. However, out of those seventeen, only four colonies are successfully established. Soon, after this, all life on earth is destroyed, under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind the people on those colonies as the last of all mankind. Over the course of the next fifty thousand years, these people evolve into four distinct races, called the Keplers, the Albeins, the Elveden and the Aureans. At the pinnacle of their civilizations, these four colonies are one day attacked and laid to waste by the most advanced and powerful alien race in the universe, known as the Volski, under the command of their Imperial Lord, Olscuro. As the last of the human survivors flee for their lives from the Volski, a mysterious sign starts appearing to a Kepler boy, Troy Zander, guarding him and helping him fight back against the enemy, whilst holding magical secrets and the key to the boy’s past, his present and the future of the universe.

Some of my favourite from this book are,

“No force is greater than the magic within You.”
and
“Heroes are neither born nor created but resurrected.”

I completed the first draft of Troy Zander in two months and it took another month to complete the revision. I was so enthralled with this novel that, the words and the plot just kept flowing like a river.

Hope you enjoy what you read!
