Featured Interview With Kayla Krantz
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I am a proud author, responsible for a number of fantasy novels, and fascinated by the dark and macabre. Stephen King is my all-time inspiration, mixed in with a little bit of Eminem and some faint remnants of the works of Edgar Allen Poe. When I began writing, I started in horror, but somehow drifted into thriller and fantasy. I love the 1988 movie, “Heathers.” I was born and raised in Michigan, but traveled across the country to where I currently reside, in Texas.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I have always loved books. When I was little, i used to love breaking down the “happy endings” of fairy tales. In elementary school, I used to write my own short stories about cats going on adventures that my principal would read at least once a week.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Oh, boy. I could fill pages with this question!
I’ll keep it simple though.
1. Lynn Weingarten
2. Stephen King
3. Ruth Ware
4. Mary Kubica
5. Carissa Ann Lynch
6. Caroline Kepnes
7. Marissa Meyer
8. Ryan Green
9. Gillian Flynn
Overall, my favorite genre to read is psychological fiction, but anything dark and twisty keeps my attention.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is called Dungeons and Demons. It’s a YA horror that will be featured in “The Soul’s Day Boxset” published by FireQuill Publishing in October 2020.
