Featured Interview With Javier
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in a simple town in Habana, Cuba in the 1990’s. When communism started to enter it’s irreversible crisis.
We were eight in a house of 2 bedrooms so my parents and I had to move out to another town . This one was violent and way less developed, but I was lucky to avoid trouble and live a happy live.
I currently live with my fiance and our two dogs in the beautiful city of Matanzas(also in Cuba).
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
When I was 9 I did a Spanish exam that went so good they called my mom to tell her I had written an amazing story for my age and that she should encourage me to pursue a career involved with creating.
Since then I haven’t stopped writing.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Fantasy and adventure. Laura Gallego and Leigh Bardugo are currently my favourite authors.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I had a story to tell and I did it . The quest of writing project Angel Saga began 15 years ago. The world and the characters have changed in a way I feel it was meant to happen . When I review and rewrite I have the feeling of getting to a place I had visited before, maybe in a past life.
Nacimiento is the begining of Project Angel . It means Birth, because is the coming of Lídel to the world . He will collide with the reality of Cinan society and become a man. In this book he will learn what pursuing a dream really means.
Another birth happens in Nacimiento and it is the start of a procces long ago announced by a being that the creators called Father . The Termination. A series of events that will end in the extermination of the Cinan species.
Books and videogames alike fueled my imagination and then I had the tools to write this story that feels more like a message I need to deliver to humanity.
