Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
Son of a preacher man; born and raised in IL. Following high school I worked for Anheuser-Busch as a glass blower. After saving up money and attending college in KY I relocated to the Smoky Mountains of East TN and worked as a Nephrology Social Worker. An opportunity arose for me to become part owner operator of a Schlotzky’s Deli in the Charlotte, NC area, so I took it. During my time as a franchisee I met and married the love of my life, Heather. We have two children (Katelyn and Nate) and one loyal but lazy dog (Rudy).
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
21. During college I would stay up late at night writing poetry after my homework was done.
