I first feel into fascination during my freshman year of high school. I started writing poetry over 15 years ago as a way to externally express internal emotions. It wasn’t until early 2014 that I started to put focus on the novel writing process.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is Dan Brown. I also enjoy reading Brad Meltzer, Joe Hill, Iris Johansen and Wahida Clark. My favorite genres would have to be Mystery/Suspense and Urban Fiction. As for my writing inspiration, I take ideas from everywhere. It could be a recent movie, recent read or just something that I see during the day in passing. That’s one of the joys of writing, your motivation can anything.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, Situations, is my debut novel. It is an Urban/Street Literature novel that follows the story of two cousins, Deontay “Dee” Curry and Jayson “Jay” Bryant, as they become involved in the drug game in the small town of Saginaw Michigan. Though they were both raised in the same area, they each start with different mindsets and approaches to life in their city. Dee’s reason for involvement is to use the game in his own way to make a way out of the hood. While Jay has aspirations of taking over the entire drug scene in the city. Though they each have different reasons for their involvement, their lives are so intertwined that each of them rely on the other’s involvement for any chance of reaching their goal.
