Featured Interview With J.L. Sapphire
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Prescott,AR ….a small town 15 miles away from Hope, which is where former President Clinton was born. I’m married with two children, ages 16 & 10.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I became fascinated with books when I was about 11. I was a total bookworm throughout my childhood. As for writing, that came later…once I was in high school and boys came into play. You know, you had little crushes on guys, but I was too shy to tel them, so I would write in diaries or make up little stories about them…
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I am a fan of so many authors, but some of my favorites are Electa Rome Parks, Angie Daniels, and Allison Hobbs. Like these ladies, I prefer writing in the erotic romance genre. There is never a lack of material when writing erotica or romance novels. These authors as well as Zane and Carl Weber have been my inspirations for writing. The characters they create literally make you feel as if you know them personally…you can definitely relate to their subject matter.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest novel is entitled Masquerade:Nina’s Revenge. The plot centers around pampered housewife, Nina Montgomery, who gets the shock of her life when her husband announces on their 20th anniversary that he’s leaving her for her best friend. She’s heartbroken and vows to get back at the both of them for betraying her…her revenge plot involves seducing their handsome 21 year old son. But you know, sometimes trying to get revenge on a person can backfire…which is what happens in the end. It took me a little over a month to complete the manuscript because I kept going back and adding more details. Once I finished, I started another project and came up with a better ending that what I’d already written, so I went back and re-wrote the last chapter. My readers have all said this is my best book to date, so I’m glad I went back and changed the ending.
