Featured Interview With Indie John Baptiste
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in New York City, Delmarva, and the Carolinas. I currently live in Delmarva. I don’t have any pets.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
From an early age. When I was little, my mother would read to me and I somehow knew when to turn the pages with my feet. My father would look from the other room and be so proud. I was perhaps six or seven when I began writing stories about Winx Club and the like.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I don’t want to choose favorites.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty set in the Caribbean during the 1800s. I include references to a poem named Crossing the Bar.
