Featured Interview With Ethan Ruedlinger
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in a small town in Southern Indiana known as Elizabethtown, a farming community founded in the 1830’s, with a population of less than 250, as per the 2010 census. I spent two years in the military, signing my contract at 16, and officially enlisting at 17. I traveled from Fort Jackson, South Carolina; to Fort Gordon, Georgia; to Fort Campbell, Kentucky; to Oak Grove, Kentucky; to Bakersfield, California, to Paris, Tennessee, to Versailles, Kentucky, I’ve recently moved back to Indiana, where I can pursue bookwriting more vehemently.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My very first poem was written at 11 year old. Everyone who read my piece was dumbfounded, and claimed that I have a gift for writing. My first book was originally written in 2014 as a school thesis covering the topic of creationism. I later edited and revised my old work in 2017, and published it in August of 2020.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe, I love his works! I’m a huge fan of scraping the sugar coating off of things and seeing the world for what it truly is. In other words, I’m a realist, which could perhaps be the reason for my fascination with philosophy.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, entitles: “Shambles,” is part one of a multi-part series of memoirs that, when read in chronological order, constitute an autobiography.
