I grew up in upstate NY…moved around the country, now settled in Dulles, VA area. I’m a Schnauzer lover….smartest dogs in the world and a great editor! His ear’s are very yay/nay on a sentence!
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
My mother told me I started enjoying books at age 1 – going page by page thru the Sear’s catalogue! But I’ve always been a voracious reader jumping from Nancy Drew to Mickey Spillane when I was 12! I started writing in high school but worked in radio/TV/advertising after highschool.
I wrote for radio shows; did tag lines for TV shows; then moved onto writing commercials.
I’m a dialogue writer and lasted 4 days working on the pilot for a TV show you might know – Saturday Night Live…yup just 4 days…it was difficult being the only one not drinking or on drugs!
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I read a lot of my friends: Sandra Brown, Donna Fasano, Stacy Juba, Janelle Taylor, Patricia Green – I know eclectic!
I have no favorite genre…love them all.
I write ‘faction’ so I’m inspired by taking ‘headline’ topics, turning them into fiction – sometimes romance; sometimes thrillers.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Let me bring you into Dangerous Places! The first Roman Cantrell-Nikki Holden Mystery…coming in April will be Dark Corners; followed by Rough Edges then Dead Heat!
Dangerous Places is a ‘cut from the headlines’ explicit thriller set in the world of sports and satellite betting. But like Agatha Christie said – that’s seldom what a mystery is about.
She’s so right! Dangerous Places is all about the Seven Deadly Sins – that twist the characters’s lives.
