Featured Interview With Drako
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, a common setting for my books, and I still live there. No pets, I’m not much of an animal person.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I’ve been reading since I was about four. I’ve always read ahead of my level, reading at college level by the time I hit fifth grade. Ironically, I also started writing in fifth grade. I was assigned a short story and the ideas kept coming, so I began writing books.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
Anne Rice is my hands down all time favorite and the reason I started writing my books exactly how I wanted to write them instead of trying to stick with the status quo. She has been my biggest inspiration, because I simply love how her characters feel real. I get attached to them. Sherilyn Kenyon is another big inspiration to me, because her Dark Hunter series is so long with no ending in sight, and with spin off series, so I knew I was able to really let my first series fly as long as I want and I believe it’s possible t still keep fans interested.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is the sixth book in my Dragon Hunters series. The series has a mix of ancient gods, primarily Greek, with new gods of my own creation to incarnate other primordial forces. Of course there are shifters, witches, demons, Fae, and vampires to keep things going, and the latest book is about one of the most famous vampires of all time, commonly known as Dracula. This book is his love story, him finding his mate after a very long existence, and also having to face down an army of fallen angels to protect the Fae homeland and the non-fallen angels. He is a very interesting and dominating character, and he took his sweet time giving me his story to tell, but it turned out to be one of my steamier novels and I’m satisfied with it. It releases 1/26/15
