Featured Interview With Dove Winters
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I was raised in Nebraska, and I still live here today! I’m married with four kids and two guinea pigs, who act just like my kids.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I started writing around six years old. It started out as a twenty-book series featuring talking horses. That combined my two passions at the time: writing and talking horses.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love to read any genre, as long as there is some romance in it. Fantasy always seems to take the top spot though. I love Diana Gabaldon and her Outlander series. I think she has inspired me the most lately. Her writing is so honest and I’m trying to do my best to follow her example.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
I’m working on a trilogy called Ember of the Planet. The idea came from a question I had after watching a movie with a fetching bad guy: what would happen if the hero fell in love with the villain? I’ve been working on this series for almost two years now and the first two books are out! Book three was a new experience for me. It was the first time that a character has fought so hard for something I had to completely change the book. Those characters demand to be listened to!
