Featured Interview With Dorothy Bigguns
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
I love to play shuffleboard, browse YouTube and enjoy all types of comedy. My hobbies are reading, writing and bumming around on my days off. I studied at Ohio State University for one semester, and dropped out to become a full-time porter at a hospital while pursuing a career in writing. In my free time, I volunteer at the local humane society caring for dogs, cats and rabbits. I was raised in Columbus, Ohio, live in Anthem, Arizona now and have 1 cat.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
Wow, as early as I can remember. I loved to read books over and over again. If a movie had a book, I would read it and enjoy it differently. When I was in high school I fell in love with journaling and writing out my candid thoughts. After a couple of years of journaling, I discovered that I could laugh at my own thoughts, so the transition seemed easy enough to become a writer.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I love to read George Carlin, Dean Koontz and Al Franken books. My favorite genre is humor and satire, but I also love a good horror book. George Carlin is one of my absolute favorite people and an inspiration to me since I was a teenager.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book came from the number of bad incidents I have had due to have too much gas! Every time I share one of these stories with someone, I would find out that I wasn’t the only one experiencing this kind of embarassment.
