Featured Interview With Delali Norvor
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Delali Norvor. I’m 18 years old and I’m a poet. I’m from Accra, Ghana. I used to split my time between Ghana and USA before moving permanently to Maryland and that is where I live now.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I think I have been fascinated with books from birth, thanks to my mom. She used to read me stories 24/7 and that’s how I became a literary addict. I started writing in elementary school but took it seriously in high school when I needed an outlet to express what I was going through and my emotional struggles of fitting in since I was an outcast. Actually, that’s what my third book, “Mother Nature, My Kinship. & the Dolphins,” is about. It poetically details my self discovery on who I am as a human who is not defined by her differences.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
I like Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and John Grisham. I think I like autobiography and legal thriller. It’s people and issues that I’m surrounded by are the ones who ends up in my writings.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Mother Nature, My Kinship. & the Dolphins,” is about my journey to self discovery and changing the way how I perceive myself. It poetically details my perception on who I am as a human who is not defined by her differences.
