Featured Interview With Daccari Buchelli
Tell us a little about yourself. Where were you raised? Where do you live now?
My name is Daccari Buchelli and I am a twenty three year old British born Author. I was raised in the South-East of England, in the city of Peterborough. To this day I remain here, with my young terrier puppy, Sam.
At what age did you realize your fascination with books? When did you start writing?
I first stumbled upon the world of Fantasy during my childhood. I had always loved reading, no matter the genre and was determined to read as many books as possible. Many books filled our family home, all promising to spirit me away to incredible new worlds. I soon found the Fantasy genre winning me over and now I cannot seem to escape.
I began to write at age eight when I realized that I didn’t understand the world around me. Creating new worlds helped me to gauge the different values of society, as well as giving me an insight into different types of personalities that make up our world.
I now spend my time exploring my own magical wonderlands while focusing on the darker side of human nature. When away from my trusty ball point pen and energetic terrier puppy, I enjoy art and music, as well as curling up with a good book and a cup of tea or coffee.
Who are your favorite authors to read? What is your favorite genre to read. Who Inspires you in your writings?
My favourite genre to read is Fantasy. It has been ever since I began adolescence. My favourite authors to read are Terry Goodkind, author of The Sword of Truth Series, and James Patterson, who writes a mix of thrillers, YA novels, and more. Both of these authors have helped to inspire me with their wise words and unique styles. They have helped me to learn the value of life and all of the experiences that pass us by.
Tell us a little about your latest book?
Phoenix (Book One of The Peradon Fantasy Series) is a YA Fantasy novel, which was initially inspired by a previous romantic relationship, turned sour. The two main characters are polar opposites, a naive Princess of the Flame Realm and a Frost Realm Emperor with many dark secrets. I wanted to capture the significant difference between the two types of personalities and to demonstrate how one can bring nothing but destruction.
Princess Violetta is a meek character who suffers a great tragedy during her childhood years. Not only is there a plot to see her assassinated, but when she turns fifteen she is expected to marry. Violetta is also somewhat of a rebel at times and resists her father’s attempts to lecture her on the subject of suitors, all the while wishing to live a life free of the demands of others.
Her counterpart, Emperor Ryore, is the eldest heir to the Frost Realm throne. As a child, he was infatuated with Violetta from the moment he saw her and becomes more obsessed as time goes on. When he hears that she has turned fifteen, he does all he can to impress her, including saving her life.
